I want Trump neither arrested nor prosecuted – just gone.

January 20, 2021 can’t come too soon.

Justice should be done by the State (NY) and Manhattan authorities. But you're right....unless there is a clear smoking gun, the FBI should just try to forget the blob too.
And I think states will likewise be reluctant to prosecute Trump for much the same reason.

Or if they do, Trump would be subject to only civil fines and penalties – no criminal prosecution, no jailtime.
I really hope you're wrong about that.

Trump will be living like a king in Florida??
You leftist will still be living like the peasants you’re

Can't wait for his first book after giving four years of his life for this country. It'll be a #1 best seller fer sure, and probably make him a bazillion dollars.

Agreed.

Biden’s DOJ certainly won’t prosecute Trump – that would establish a dangerous precedent for Biden and future presidents.

And there’s some merit to the argument that we don’t want future presidents reluctant to take needed action to protect the American people because that action might be considered illegal.

Presidents are not above the law, of course – hence the impeachment process; unfortunately the Senate has seen fit to render that process de facto null and void.

What about Barr (aka Spanky)? Do you think the DOJ would go after him?
Likely not.

Remember, Biden and Democrats need to take care to not make hypocrites of themselves; one of the on-going criticisms of Trump was his threats to subject political opponents to criminal prosecution (“lock her up”) – seeking to do so was the stuff of banana republics and tinpot dictators.

Subjecting political opponents to criminal prosecution is not what we do, it's not who we are as a people.

There is precedent for this:

“On his last day in office in 2001, Clinton agreed to a five-year suspension of his Arkansas law license in order to head off any criminal charges for lying under oath about his relationship with Lewinsky. Clinton has been eligible to seek reinstatement of his license since 2006, but as of 2013 he had not applied to do so.”

Trump might likewise agree to relinquish control of his businesses in New York State and agree not to do business in the State in order to head off any criminal charges.

I think we ought to know what actually went on before we let that creep off the hook.

There needs to be a reckoning ...for him and for the people who enabled him

Or it would be an opportunity for Biden and Democrats to demonstrate sound public policy and responsible governance – both of which were missing during the Trump years.

Indeed, as a matter of practical politics, Democrats don’t want to make a martyr of Trump; the best punishment for Trump is that he be ignored and forgotten.

What sound policies has Biden proposed? Virtually every one of them is detrimental to the US.

Many on the mindless right will not understand the fine distinction but Hillary didn't actually commit a crime according to the FBI director (or at least not much of one).

If there is proof of a significant crime carried out by any official, it needs to be investigated and prosecuted. Otherwise...it just keeps happening.

The same thing with the looters during the Floyd riots...you don't stop them from rioting and the riots continue.

“anyone who chose Biden for president is “ignorant, anti-American and anti-Christian.” TRUMP RETWEET November 15 2020 - NotfooledbyW, post: 25933583

The great American pussy grabber Christian has retweeted today that 78 million Americans who voted for a devout Catholic , never pussy grabbing Christian in the 2020 presidential election is anti-Christian and anti-American.

Trump cannot be arrested tried and convicted for his tweet-storms but that does not mean he should not burn in hell for being about as disgusting and deplorable as a civilized human being can get without committing a physical crime against humanity and an atrocity to our great pluralistic nation. That is an America that was not founded to have the President of one major political party question the religious affiliation and commitment to any spiritual belief let alone Christianity.

Trump the pussy grabber is no one to question any one’s religion. And specifically the religion of the decent man who just kicked his ass out of office with a five million vote margin and all of his voters.

Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump

More college educated people is detrimental to the US?

The response should be fun.

Again...before we forgive...we need to know exactly WHAT we are forgiving
