We see the loss of influence in Egypt to Russia.
Being forced to back down in Syria.
The humiliation of a total reversal of policy on Iran, backing away from Israel's lies regarding nuclear weapons.
Having to explain yourselves to Israel regarding that deal with Iran.
A major partner, Britain, supporting China when America wants to create a new enemy.
Many economically smaller countries that America has tried to court, notably Indonesia, aligning with China and Russia.

Even Hollywood is getting in on the act with "White house down", a film suggesting American arms manufacturers are in charge of U.S, foreign policy and in league with terrorist groups in order to keep weapons sales strong (probably true).

Regardless of political opinion, a few major events have passed that are well against the usual run of things.

Does this mean American power is in decline?

No, our power is not on the decline, it just means another Democrat president will be a stain on the USA's history.

our power is directly portional to our correct use of our liberty. As we use our liberty to oppress one another and limit freedom in the world, we will lose our power. If we continue to work to make people truly free and to choose to do good with that liberty, we will be powerful.

Not sure what was meant by "power". Influence has been waining for decades and will continue to wain for decades to come.

Not sure it matters.

All states, regardless of their power, dies.
The Roman empire was doomed when it got too big and oppressed too many people, just as the Soviet empire did.
America has done the same for so many years and I believe we've seen the beginning of the fall.

A new world order is taking shape and, as with the fall of so many empires, I believe we'll see a lot of blood flowing when the new powers arise.

Our influence was from idealistically supporting individual freedom. however, since the fall of the Wall, we've supported Israel's implemenation of apartheid, invaded a country that posed little danger to ourselves to insert a govt not hostile to Israel. Obama is blowiing up civilians as much as terrorists with drones. And we wonder why we have no cred.

On the other hand, BushII really did up our standing in Africa.

There was some thought in 2000 about setting up sort of a global Khan academy and putting solar powered computers in villages.
