Israel's War Against Hamas - Updates

“The Israeli Authorities have provided UNRWA with information about the alleged involvement of several UNRWA employees in the horrific attacks on Israel on 7 October.

“To protect the Agency’s ability to deliver humanitarian assistance, I have taken the decision to immediately terminate the contracts of these staff members and launch an investigation in order to establish the truth without delay. Any UNRWA employee who was involved in acts of terror will be held accountable, including through criminal prosecution.

“UNRWA reiterates its condemnation in the strongest possible terms of the abhorrent attacks of 7 October and calls for the immediate and unconditional release of all Israeli hostages and their safe return to their families.

“These shocking allegations come as more than 2 million people in Gaza depend on lifesaving assistance that the Agency has been providing since the war began. Anyone who betrays the fundamental values of the United Nations also betrays those whom we serve in Gaza, across the region and elsewhere around the world”.

The US announced on Friday that it was temporarily suspending funding for UNRWA, the UN agency dedicated to Palestinian refugees and their descendants, citing concerns about the participation of several of its employees in the Oct. 7, 2023 Hamas pogrom in southern Israel.

“The United States is extremely troubled by the allegations that twelve UNRWA employees may have been involved in the October 7 Hamas terrorist attack on Israel,” US State Department Matthew Miller said in a statement. “The Department of State has temporarily paused additional funding for UNRWA while we review these allegations and the steps the United Nations is taking to address them.”

The US announcement came after UNRWA confirmed that it was launching an investigation into the employees suspected of involvement in the pogrom.

“The Israeli authorities have provided UNRWA with information about the alleged involvement of several UNRWA employees in the horrific attacks on Israel on October 7,” Philippe Lazzarini, UNRWA Commissioner-General, said in a statement.”To protect the agency’s ability to deliver humanitarian assistance, I have taken the decision to immediately terminate the contracts of these staff members and launch an investigation in order to establish the truth without delay.”

While Miller claimed that 12 UNRWA employees joined the Hamas assault — in which more than 1,200 Israelis and foreigners were murdered and more than 200 taken hostage, amid atrocities that included mass rape and mutilation — Lazzarini did not disclose the number of employees allegedly involved in the attacks, nor the nature of their alleged involvement. He said, however, that “any UNRWA employee who was involved in acts of terror” would be held accountable, including through criminal prosecution.

A spokesperson for UN Secretary-General Antonio Gutteres said that the world body’s top official was “horrified” by the revelations.

“An urgent and comprehensive independent review of UNRWA will be conducted,” Stephane Dujarric said.

Wrong.
Hamas can not release the hostages because once there are no hostages, then there is no means by which to prevent total genocide.
Israel has billions worth of US weapons.
Hamas has a few home made rockets.
Obviously it is Israel that has to first go back to the 1948 UN partition, and allow the right of return, or there is no point in dealing with Israel at all.
It is Israel that started this all by blowing up the King David Hotel to murder the British peacekeepers.
So they could massacre hundreds of Arab villages like Dier Yassin.
This incident is irrelevant.
The point is Israel has been guilty of attempted genocide for 80 years and no one did anything.

Nonsense.
Oct 7 was caused by Israel murdering tens of thousands of Palestinians over the last 80 years, and stealing 85% of Palestine.
The remaining 13 million Palestinians have been illegally blockaded on just 15% of their own country, and obviously that is not enough land to live on.
So the Oct 7 retribution was more than warranted.

Wrong.
This is not a war.
This is armed Israeli soldiers illegally invading and wiping out the native Palestinians.
So Palestinians then are warranted in fighting back any way possible against the Israeli criminal invaders.

Again, if Israel had not been intended to commit mass murder of native villages, then there would have been no reason for Israel to murder the British peace-keepers by blowing up the King David Hotel, and gunning down Folke Bernadotte the UN moderator.

Gaza has a population of 13 Million people?

That is news to the people who live in Gaza, LOL.

PS: Gaza is not a country. It could have been, but chooses not to.
