It looks as though Miami will be unaffected...

Why wasn't there at least a barn for those poor cows?

Well, maybe that was a better death than the slaughter.
There is no barn big enough for most herds up here... Plus they are really stupid animals they go to low-lying areas when bad weather hits.

Guys, this isn't a political thing! It's not about government "control"...it's about a killer storm. I'm in Fort Myers and we're about to get our asses handed to us by what might very well be a 100 year storm. Hopefully the storm surge isn't 15 feet as predicted. That will wipe out most of Southwest Florida. I'm hoping my businesses are still there on Monday. Right now I'd say it's less than 50/50.

I was snowed in for 3 1/2 weeks from the storm with no power and I lived through it...

Well, if it worked out for you in that circumstance, it must work the same way for everyone in every severe weather situation, right? :p
Na, we just don't depend on the nanny state up here and do just fine.

We just can't go running to uncle sugar every time something goes wrong… LOL

And everyone faces the same shit up here every time of storm rolls through not just a few like you think…

I'd be pissed if I evacuated...
The whole thing could be a big dud, and then all the warmist cult members will cry.

Storm surges of 8-20 feet height stops 1500-1800 inland feet from shore(at inches deep) and gone. Have a bag of microwave "popcorn". Much more dangerous

I pray for everybody down there, because that's the only hope we really have in life...

Sure are a lot of hurricane ignorant people here professing some sort of knowledge. Currently, this storm is larger than the country of France. I lived through three hurricanes, decades ago and one when I lived in Key West.

Rustic the joker is behaving like a typical loser boasting about living through typical snowfall in Montanna or wherever as compared to a massive hurricane. Just childish.

Appreciate the thought, Rustic. I spent big bucks on hurricane proof windows about ten years ago and thought I was good to go but now my house is right on the line where they were calling for mandatory evacuations. I've never seen flood water anywhere near where my house is but we've never had a storm this big with the eye hitting us dead on. To make things worse the storm surge will most likely be coming right at high tide. Won't be getting much sleep tonight!

I don't know if much of Key West is going to survive this one, Markle! 15 foot storm surge on those islands won't leave much behind!

A few to several times a winter, 50-100 Mph winds wind chills in the 40-50 below feet of snow With no power for weeks. Lol
Just typical

I would NOT have stayed through this one.

There are 42 bridges in about 120 miles to Key West. If one goes down or has major structural damage, supplies South of that break will run short quick. Also, before they can allow traffic, each bridge has to be inspected. Now there are modern 4 lane bridges. When I lived there the bridges were 2 narrow lanes. Watching 2 tractor trailers meet was a thrill.... The railing on the Seven Mile Bridge and some others were made of the rails from the old train that went to Key West and was destroyed in the horrendous 1935 hurricane.

. You just keep going and going.. Different storms, different circumstances, and different outcomes.

Of course they are different in every way, I'm just saying the federal government/media needs to keep their opinions to themselves. They don't know the facts…
Those people choose to live in the city just as I choose to live up here, I don't need nor does anyone else Need the nanny state telling us what to do.

The people in the Miami area should sucker punch this fucker for telling them to evacuate... lol

You don't pay attention do you? The Governor urged evacuation and btw if you're watching live streaming of any Miami news station they are getting heavy outer bands.

The progressive government and mainstream media are the same thing… It's an incestuous thing. Lol

What are you looking at that leads you to think that? You are aware that the paths shown on news reports pertain to the eye of the hurricane, not the whole hurricane, aren't you?

I'm looking at a hurricane having a ~300 mile diameter, which is about twice width of FL. That the eye of the hurricane may miss Miami is absolutely no basis for thinking Miami "will be unaffected."

I'm hearing that Miami will suffer storm surge for sure. Parts of Miami flood in passing-through heavy rain. In my mind, suffering storm surge is far from "unaffected."

Forecasted track and wind speeds at 6:00 p.m. today. (It's ~6:30 p.m. as I write this.)

Charleston, SC and points farther north on the Atlantic coast appear unlikely to suffer much beyond heavy rain, flooding, and high winds of the sort brought by a big thunderstorm.

In any case, my idea of "unaffected" is what London, England will experience as a result of Irma.

No, he doesn't, he doesn't live anywhere near an ocean and doesn't know shit.
