It really is baffling to me republicans still think the wall is a good idea

Of course, granted, the idea has always been baffling to me but republicans seem to have this fantasy now that the wall will solve our most pressing issues somehow.

What republicans are too dense to understand is that the left doesn’t like wall idea because we want open borders, it’s because it’s a stupid idea that an 8th grader would come up with. Just think about this critically for a moment. If the wall is such a genius idea to curb illegal immigration, why in the fuck didn’t any republican politician before Trump entertain such a simple idea? Sure repubs have proposed building some kind of barrier on certain stretches of the border, but none of them ever suggested that the entire border would be sealed off and it was the best immigration policy. Don’t republican voters ever think about this most basic of logic?

Okay but let’s pretend repubs are right about the idea even though they really aren’t. Let’s pretend the wall magically stopped the flow of illegal Latino immigrants because they were all too lazy to tunnel under it or climb over I guess.

Then what? The wall is built and illegal immigration is stopped. What is supposed to happen after that? Why would this one issue be the cure-all to the economy? The overall fraction of illegal immigrants coming from Mexico out of the US population is pretty small. Why would this suddenly boost wages, GDP, and revenue?

Now let’s pretend republicans had their ultimate wet dream fulfilled and all undocumented immigrants in this country were deported as well. You might see this as a positive by believing more legal citizens would get jobs, but why would that happen? The unemployment rate is under 4%. Getting rid of illegal immigrants wouldn’t somehow make the unemployment rate 0%.

Moreover, DACA citizens pay taxes. If we booted them all, revenue would drop. You know what would drop much lower if we booted all illegals? Consumer spending. DACA or not, any immigrant living here spends money on the economy. We are talking about, what, 20 million people of all nationalities? All of those people spend money on American businesses regardless of whether or not their income is legitimate. Im not highlighting this point to suggest that we should allow illegal immigrants into this country. It just doesn’t make sense to have stricter border policy just because illegal immigration still happens. A fucking wall won’t do jack shit to significantly reduce it. The border policies we have in place already are fine even if they aren’t perfect and even achieving perfection would barely make a difference anyway. Even House Democrats don’t want to make immigration policy more relaxed given that the bipartisan solution to fund the government makes no changes to border policy of the last two years.

Trump’s defiant attitude about the wall in the meeting with Pelosi and Schumer was purely for political points. He is so damn insecure that he tries to act tough just so his supporters watching the exchange would go ape shit seeing him stick it to the democrats. It’s such non sense. Trump wants the wall simply because it is a reflection of how his supporters see him. He expects us all to think he is tough when really it’s painfully obvious that he is a whiny little bitch putting up a front.
Bill, Hillary, Obama and Schumer all said a wall needed to be built.

I guess we can do away with all the walls around our prisons. Why keep them if they don't work, right?
Um obviously walls work in, you know, a building. They don’t work in curbing illegal immigration along a 2000 mile border.
Walls work as they are intended to work. They provide a barrier between two areas. Properly enforced, they provide protection of the population from the most vicious animals in society.

They also work very well in protecting the public from the animals in zoos.

People use them to keep the criminal element out of their homes. Just look at the homes of every Democrat who is in office today.

Walls work. Plain and simple. In fact, when they are properly manned, they work incredibly well. Which is why the progressives hate the idea of a wall. They'll lose two things if a wall is successfully built and maned.

Future votes and a talking point about giving free shit to the indigenous of another country.

A physical barrier itself is not a cure all. No one is suggesting that.

The physical barrier is part of a secure border.

Whether it is a physical wall, or virtual wall using technology, and troops the bottom line is to STOP ILLEGAL aliens from invading our country. No other country allows this. Unvetted, unknown people can be criminals, terrorists, gang members or just those looking to steal services from us. It has to STOP.

Lol good god dude. You are something else. Yeah dude. Walls work for buildings. No one is disputing a point as basic as that. However walls in a building is a completely different concept than suggesting a 2000 mile wall will stop illegal immigrants from crossing the border when so much of the stretch is unsupervised.

Your lack of understanding is glaring. Your partisanship is patently silly and frankly, makes you look bad. The wall WILL work, ask Israel. Hell ask Pelosi, Waters Schumer they have walls around their houses.

Lol yeah walls of a perimeter obviously work. A 2000 mile linear stretch of wall is very much not the same thing. Man you people are dense.

It’s not baffling when one considers the fact that those who support a ‘wall’ are frightened, hateful bigots.
Bigotry definitely plays a role in it, but they are so simple minded that they have let Trump delude them into thinking the wall is the most pressing issue and nothing else matters until it is built.

Yep, it's very obvious that the Democrats who are against our right to control our border crossings and immigration are motivated by hate, racism and greed.
Trump exposed how the Democratic Party lies about why they want open borders.
They want open borders because they need more poor illiterate anti-American bigot voters and because they regard educated middle class American citizens to be their opposition.
They are pandering to the racist Aztlan Nationalist who want to turn America into another Latin country.

This is why I assert pieces of shit like Billy STEAL more oxygen with each breath than their entire lives are worth.

They're taught to believe that the wall is the only answer. They're taught to believe that "drill baby drill" is the only answer. They're taught to believe that constantly lowering taxes is the only answer. They're taught to believe that attacking and insulting the media is the only answer.

Nuance is frowned upon by that party right now. Keep it simple enough to fit in between commercial breaks.

Specifically lay out your plan to secure the southern border of the US.

Take the money that the illegals are using for welfare in the US and put it to the border wall. Those illegals will head back south licketty split, because they dont have a reason to be here anymore and dont want to be caught on the wrong side of the fence before it closes....I shake my head in disbelief at how stupid liberals are...

Expensive Aliens: How Much Do Illegal Immigrants Really Cost?
The Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR), a conservative advocacy group that favors tighter immigration laws, argues that the answer is clear: illegal aliens cost U.S. taxpayers more than $100 billion each year.
This 100 billion dollars could be going to US citizens and their children who really need it, but is being sucked up by diseased illegal criminals and their anchor babies. Why? Because Democraps dont like US citizens but future Dem voters that cant speak English.
lol this was taken from the exact article you just posted:

“Wendy Sefsaf, a spokeswoman for the Immigration Policy Center which favors a lenient immigration policy, says that conservative analysts overestimate the costs because undocumented workers don't even qualify for unemployment or medical benefits.

At the same time, those whose jobs are paid legally – at least fifty percent, by some estimates – end up paying social security and other payroll taxes without ever collecting benefits. Since illegal immigrants are believed to constitute up to 5 percent of the U.S. economy, their tax contributions will mean a revenue windfall for legal residents”
And how do they end up paying into Social Security without collecting it? Because they have stolen a citizens identity which again is a felony. But you are too stupid to know that arent you? I pray every day that your identity is stolen by these criminals, and your credit is ruined. Maybe then you would have your proverbial "wake up call"..
Lol I love how you want to fault the immigrants without putting any blame whatsoever on the millions of business owners who choose to hire these people.

They don’t collect SS because if they applied they would have to provide solid evidence they are US citizens. The government isn’t going to look the other way when it comes to fake paper work. That’s something business owners do for their own interests lol

There is is. If you take away the jobs, the incomes, the support then there is no reason to come north. Mexico is having a severe worker shortage and will provide each and every one of them with jobs if they wish to stay there. Go after the illegal hiring, supporting, etc. of illegal imagrants with a vengence. Start locking people up that use the plights of these people to line their own pockets. What's even sadder, the illegal worker can't even complain about it or he gets in serious trouble or killed and another one just takes his place.

This isn't just a South of the Border problem. This is also an Asian problem as well. The wall won't stop the Aisans from illegally shipping in live cargo inside of 40 foot metal shipping containers of death.

Bigotry definitely plays a role in it, but they are so simple minded that they have let Trump delude them into thinking the wall is the most pressing issue and nothing else matters until it is built.
Never let an opportunity to flash the bigot card go by, unused.

I don’t know any Democrats that want open borders. You know Republicans don’t have a good position when they have to lie and make them up. It’s like they’re the most ridiculous and stupid people in existence and they double down on that.

But there’s a lot of reasons that the wall is a bizarre and weird idea from crazy ignorant people. For one you have Eminent domain along a thousand miles or more. Land that Americans own only to be ripped away from them.

Then you have the environmental issues that shows how stupid it is to build an impossible wall over canyons and rivers.

It’s just stupid. Stupid idea from a really stupid people who are buying into stupid And that’s just stupid.
