The finished screen is placed over the substrate that receives the print (a piece of dark cloth), and a bead of ink is poured across one end of the screen, above or below the figure. b) The ink is drawn across the figure with a squeegee (a rubber tipped board). To get a good layer of ink onto the cloth it is sometimes necessary to make two passes with the squeegee.
