Who would have thought that Louisiana's senate election (now due to a run-off next month) would be so damn important.......As it currently stands, the GOP has 51 senate seats to Dems. 48, and the run-off may either make the count 52-48 or 51-49.

This run-off is important because of the possible filibusters that Dems would apply when fighting off the GOP's wishes to also control the SCOTUS.

Bear in mind that the SCOTUS status will impact on the upholding of Roe v. Wade and the continuation of Dodd-Frank...the only safeguard toward another WS banks' possible claim that they're too big to fail.

Democrats are cool with 'Obstruction' now? Gee, go figure? Liars and cheats. Makes perfect sense they supported the Clinton Crime Family.

There is only one seat to fill at this point and the Court will stay 5-4 on Roe vs Wade in favor for it if Trump nominated someone like Ted Cruz to the USSC.

The only way the court flips is if one of the Liberal judges retire or die, and then it changes the game...

Actually, NO....moron...We are not talking about some bill that may impact us for a year or so....We are talking about adversely changing the SCOTUS that could last our entire lifetime with right wing ideology to set us back for decades.

Agreed, but Ginsburg is 83 years old and in so-so health......and then there's Bryer who is 78 and Kennedy (the swing vote) who is 80-81.

Hee hee hee...two in their 80's and one nearly so.

You do realize that the only reason there was a runoff is because of the other Republican candidates, right?

As long as the GOP has 51 then the SCOTUS will be safe from more Communists being appointed to it like Ginsberg.

As long as the DEM's have 41 or more then they can filibuster.

I am sure Schumer will filibuster any changes to ACA.

And if a nominee to the SCOTUS says he/she is openly anti Roe then Schumer will probably filibuster him/her too.

The only thing that would happen if Roe was overturned is that there would be Restrictions on Abortion in places that wanted restrictions, it would be protected in places where people don't want restrictions, and maybe the country could stop wasting time on it.

The Court expected a Clauswitzian victory on the topic when it decided Roe, instead if got 40 years of the same fight being fought again and again and again.

Ginsberg is a stupid Communist b!tch just like Breyer, Sotomayor, and Kagan.

Kennedy and Roberts are both swing voters.

Thomas and Alito are "strict constructionists".

So right now the Court is comprised of 2 strict constructionists vs 4 activists the latter of which are anti 2nd Amendment, thus the latter of which cannot read plain English or they do not give a crap about the Constitution and Bill Of Rights.

And the 2 swing voters can swing either way.

I pray every day that Ginsberg will die soon and go to Heaven.

But I suspect when she dies she will go to Hell.

My personal view is that the various States should be able to decide with their own legislation and their own civil procedure whether or not they want to allow the abomination of abortion to go on in their boundaries.

CA, ILL, Mass, NY, NJ and most if not all of the states that voted for Hillary would always allow abortions.

Texas, FL, Okla, Utah, and Wyo would always restrict it.

The other states are uncertain.

Freedom is a good thing.

There is nothing in the US Constitution that mentions women or their vaginas.

If some states were to opt out from Roe, there will be a flooding into abortion clinics from states like Alabama to Washington or California. If this restriction on women is thought to be an "asset" for conservatives, there will be adverse repercussions instead.

You shouldn't cry about republican obstruction. Go Trump, show these commie bastards on the left who won.

I would never vote to ban it, but if people in Alabama want to do it, let em.

Voting to ban abortions is just as Communist as voting to shove it down everyone's throats.

The States should be able to decide on their own.

NY, Mass, and Calif would always allow abortions and pay for them with public tax money.

The rest of the Nation should not be forced to do this.
