Kentucky law capping insulin cost for many goes into effect

A Kentucky law capping the cost of insulin for many residents is going into effect with the new year.

Gov. Andy Beshear signed the legislation last March that makes insulin more affordable. It limits the cost to $30 per 30-day supply for many Kentuckians.

The cap applies to people with state-regulated health care plans or plans purchased on the marketplace exchange, state employees and people under group plans.

Good. Governor Beshear is undoing the damage Biden did by freezing the Trump cap on prices.

Looks suspiciously like socialism.
Isn't this something that started because insulin production, supplying a very cheap compound, available worldwide for generations, came under control of somebody that realized no matter how cheap to make and distribute, the afflicted can't live without it, so price wise, the sky is the limit and anybody that does not want to see a several hundred-fold price increase, has the options to pay up or die?

Isn't that called a free market?
The folks wanting insulin can just take their business elsewhere.

Then, in the case of insulin, I'll take socialism. That wasn't right. I am pro-capitalism, but have no stomach for life and death cutthroat capitalism.

This is a Democratic governor implementing part of Build Back Better, which is being obstructed by every Republican Senator. That's all.

Moron, nationally it's been in effect for a couple of years. I am a Consultant for an insurance company. Under 65 insulins capped at $35 Medicare at $25. The Insulins simply have to be on the Formulary.

I have type 2 diabetes and I can afford my insulin easily.
Biden fucked over the low income families who couldnt afford it after Trump made it available for them.
