Yes and no.

Super powers are what they are. They are not all that alike to Empires

But power is alike.

The difference between empires and superpowers is that empires took land, and superpowers manipulate leaders or take them down.

Both make/made huge amounts of money out of this, both were victims of huge greed, and the green-eyed monster came and crashed the party. The same is happening to the US.

A country that can't really get anything necessary done unless it makes rich people richer.

As with most of the Trump legal issues, the World Wide Web and sites like USMB have comments and narratives that stray from what is fact, what is truthful. It's human nature to do what people have been doing with these contentious issues. Mr. Trump must love the attention. He will certainly get more than a few paragraphs in future history books.

But let some of us here read the actual ruling, and use that for discussion, conversation, arguments.

Despite the Leftist meltdown, the ruling is so reasonable it is common sense. Presidents cannot be lawfared to the hilt in or out of office for official acts. But they are not, to quote the Left's favorite hypocritical phrase, "above the law".
