Kevin Costner In 13 days - the cuban missile crisis

In 1962 the U.S. certainly would have.

The Soviet nuclear arsenal was tiny compared to that of the United States
There is no victory when millions of Americans die needlessly

It’s a fact.
Trump knew what libs still have not figured out

The wuflu is not going away and assuming the fetal position in a corner somewhere is not going to save you

Wouldnt it have been for nothing?

The soviet union is long gone without a nuclear exchange

They could've been gone 30 years earlier.

Whats the freedom of hundreds of millions of people for a generation worth?

As Paul Harvey used to say, "the rest of the story" is that JFK's incredible blunder in illegally authorizing the CIA to recruit an illegal Cuban invasion army and then abandoning them at the Bay of Pigs led the Russians to (correctly) assume that the U.S. was led by a dilettante who didn't have a clue. Russian boomer subs with nuclear capability continued to operate within striking distance of the U.S. while the media pretended that JFK saved us. The movie is intended to give an aura of heroism to the Kennedy W.H. and was based on the imagination of Hollywood directors.

I think JFK’s father’s reputation inspired the soviets just as much.
The movie was pretty much accurate and at least exposed the capitulation of the removal of missiles in Turkey. The entire excomm showed guts in the face of what transpired. The soviets obviously didn’t expect much resistance. When it came, the entire episode became extremely dangerous.
JFK’s ostensible overall image of heroism is mostly the fault of media.

Then you’re a shill of the leftovers. Leftovers are counterculturists who never grew out of that mindset.
You’re also too young to have known that threat from 1962.
Soviets could have wiped out almost the entire population of the US. The remainder would have died from fallout.

Cities would be attacked with air bursts. And you don't get much fallout with air bursts.

Lt. John Kennedy was dismissed from the Navy Intel community after allegations of fraternization with a German spy. His term on the PT boats was lack luster except for the fact that his Boat was the only one to have been run over by an enemy ship. JFK was facing a Navy court martial when his father used his Hollywood connection and hired a novelist to rewrite the JFK incident into a heroic episode called "PT 109" and the rest is history (or Hollywood history).
