Kids Taught to Praise Obama

And that the President had absolutely nothing to do with it.

What is political about teaching 6 year olds a song about their President?

Kids should be proud of their country. The President is the symbol of this country. What is wrong with teaching kids to love their country?

I think it was a bit creepy, sorry. But the President had nothing to do with what the school chose to do here. That was my point.

I agree completely. There is no evidence connecting the White House directly to this event. But it's still out of control and the parents deserve an apology and some assurance that it won't happen again. I don't know if that means that someone needs to be fired, but at least formally reprimanded and monitored. This was an abuse, plain and simple.

What is more uncommon is for anyone to care

True, but it was only a matter of time before the masses awoke.

What masses?

Here we have a few people whining about some bullshit just as they have every step of the way...we had all that whining about Obama addressing the school children regarding back to school..."wrong for a president to do so" until they realized Reagan and Poppy Bush did..."Yeah but not with a political agenda" which Obama didn't deliver but Reagan and Poppy Bush did...kiss my everlovin'.

I'm not a big Obama fan and there is plenty about our government to complain about but finding an obscure YouTube video about a group of school kids honoring the first black president in a school skit during Black History month ain't one of them and you betcha, I'll defend our president from fools like "the masses"...go back to fucking sleep...all you are doing is turning people away and not accomplishing a damn thing.

Your not a big fan but a fan none the less, is that what your saying, calm down, no need to be so angry about this, there are more examples of Obama praise and this video is hardly obscure, its a mainstream/current event. So who's the fool, me or you, you call the video obscure yet millions apon millions of ordinary american people have seen and heard and are actively discussing the video.

Funny how so many go back and say look at what Reagan did, Look what Bush did, so I guess if Bush was a rapist and Obama got caught raping your arguement would be, "Bush did it toooooooo."

Bush aint president no more, Obama is, Bush in no longer relevant, Obama is.

One example, you dont think there are more, talk about naive.

Yep your not "A big fan", just a fan, I aint no fan of Obama and I aint no fan of Bush, I am a fan of the truth, the truth period.

Ah, I don't know. I think some people just were a bit too ... exuberant lol. That said, there should have been a cooler head (higher up) to rein it in a bit. They could have done a tribute to him in a more appropriate way, IMO.

One thing I'd like to know is if it was voluntary. There weren't that many kids involved so I wonder if it was...

I've heard that the parents were consulted at some earlier point, but I'm not sure of the veracity of that. If they were consulted, they should have raised their concerns then. However, such consent does not forfeit the parents' rights to raise concern now for several reasons. Their consent may have been based on faulty information. There may have been other coercive factors that influenced their decision.

Honoring his great accomplishments? He hasn't get any yet.

A Black man becoming President would not be considered an accomplishment?

BLACK HISTORY MONTH...and yes, he's made history.

You clearly missed the sentence where I said...

OK, celebrating the fact that he is the first black President is one thing.

So, clearly I did consider that an accomplishment. It's hard to believe you didn't get this since it is the sentence directly before the one you quoted.

Of course it is an obscure video when viewed in the proper context...it came out in June on YouTube and is just now being addressed...where was the outrage back then?

There was none because it was just an obscure video.

Conclusion: You're the fool if you wish to put it in that context.

Your stupid rapist guess would be absurd and more foolishness...I only bring up the past to show clear hypocrisy not to justify inappropriate actions.

Bring up lying and I will likely bring up Clinton.

Oh, and BTW, Obama becoming President is as much an accomplishment for America as it is for Obama, perhaps even more so.

Obama's reward is election to the greatest political office in the world. That should be reward enough. Now he's in office, his job is the successful stewardship of the country through a very challenging set of circumstances. His color isn't going to make it any easier for him, and the bloom is definitely off the rose. If he is successful, maybe then he will have some accomplishments worth singing about. As it is, his one accomplishment so far is to put himself, by choice, in the hot seat.

He will always be remembered as the first black President, but if that is all he is remembered for then we've all been robbed.

Thank you for admitting that you contradicted yourself from one sentence to the next.

So I think I understand why we need to be concerned..

Typically, we would encourage young children to respect the President of the United States.

But in this case we have a Marxist, America hating, terrorist supporting, socialist, muslim who is not qualified to be President. Its not that he is black or anything....he is just the wrong kind of black
there is a HUGE difference between "respecting" a President and singing "praise" songs to the MAN

btw, where was the respect for the previous occupant of the office?

Bush was publically bashed...but not in the schools
Nobody kept their kids home because they might learn about Bush

During Black History Month, why shouldn't the first black President be praised?

Because......uh, its obvious, the reason its wrong is uh....oh hell I got nothin.

I tend to agree with that for the most part but I do feel that this current issue when put in context is not that big of a deal...and a bunch of whining sky is falling bullshit over every little thing he does or tries to do is not benefiting the country either...the republicons becoming the party of "no" is doing more damage to them than anyone...we saw some of the schoolyard whiny bullshit with the damnocraps but the republicons are making it into an art...with any luck at all we will see a rise in alternatives and get away from the two party system that we have now playing the people.

It's nice to see a thoughtful response.

I finally read through the last 20 pages of this thread.
As far as any of us know, Mr Obama had nothing to do with the video. I personally believe he is innocent of that.
I still think it has shades of Mao in it. For those few of you that defend the video, I suggest you read "Red Scarf Girl" by Ji-Li.

I don't Think anyone was Accusing Barry of Having anything to do with it Directly...

It's his Worshipers who did it.

But he was Certainly Suggesting Using Kids in his Tips for Child Mules 12 and Under on his Website...

:)

peace...

Indeed about the tips for lesson plans, that were later changed. "What can I do to help President Obama?"

One wonders if they didn't know of the video and think everyone would be on board with it. I'm glad to see that many, regardless of partisanship agree that it's beyond creepy.
