When my father passed away, the one thing of his I wanted to be sure and receive was his revolver (handgun). He taught me to shoot with that gun. I was offered $2500 for that gun several years back and turned it down, even though it's value is only about $500 because of the emotional attachment.

My concealed firearm (and knife, OC spray, etc...) protect you as much as they protect me. When a criminal has to guess who's armed and who isn't they become far more hesitant.
