Let us start saving the country.

We need to let the free market reign - it is the systemic fix! We should demand term limits! The reason we are in this mess is they tried to " fix " something that wasn't broke!

When has a totally free market system worked?

I mean, the US goes around the world talking about free market, then when jobs go to China or somewhere else, the right and pro-free trade people are bitching their heads off.

Truth is there is no such thing as a totally free market. It cannot exist without laws at all or you end up with anarchy. We need small limited government and try to make it as easy as possible to do business while having necessary laws in place. There are many laws in place that have a sole purpose of making it too expensive for small businesses to operate competitively against major corporations. As far as free trade, that is fine if the country we are trading with are operating fairly and not making American made goods at a competitive disadvantage. I think we as a country should only have free trade agreements where the other country's hourly wages are comparable to those in the US. If the hourly wages are less, then there should be an import tax to compensate for the cheaper labor costs. The negative is products would then cost more and people will complain.

How do you think this nation's economy got great? Let them bitch!

It's a cycle I don't think can be broken at this point.

For once, you are almost correct. We can take our government back by repealing both the 16th and 17th amendments. The states would have to innitiate the repeal because it is certain the congress would not.

Those two amendments, both ratified in 1913, subverted the concept of soverign states and set up the corruption that exists today. Get rid of them, and federal politicians lose a large share of their ability to sell favors to the monied interests.

And you believe that STATE governments are NOT just as corrupted?

You must if you imagine that the above proposal is going to solve this nation's woes.

It would create competition between the states. This can be a very good thing.

Thank you Citizens United! And the majority voting United States Supreme Court and their vote.

Money talks, voters...suck it.

The sad thing about that case is there were actually Justices of the Supreme Court who said the First Amendment shouldnt apply if you criticize a politician 30 days before an election.

Stop over-regulation and the jobs wont go overseas.

Isn't it interesting how we always talk about how we need to change others, but never ourselves? We could be far more productive fixing our own problems. In fact, the nation would take care of itself if we did the same.

Which is it easier to do? Change others or oneself? You don't need money to change who you are. You just need to make different choices.

If we fix ourselves and then our families, we will go a long way to fixing our communities.

Capitalists will always seek to have the same work done for lower wages, that's capitalism. You can make the country as friendly as hell to business but you can't fix what it costs to live here versus what it costs elsewhere. No one here will work for the slave wages commonly paid out in other nations.

When you artificially increase the cost of labor with regulation, what do you expect?

Let us start saving the country.

We need to start demanding change. I don’t care if it is the Republican or the Democrat party that does it. We need to start demanding action and demanding both parties start to follow. We need to demand fixes that really work.

First we need to fix the tax system. Sure one can scream tax the rich then have the government give a 15 to 35 percent tax rate to provide loop holes for the rich to higher tax attorneys and accountants and only pay around 0 to 10 percent. We need a flat tax for all those earning over three times the poverty rate or a fair tax system with sales tax on all things outside of groceries and second hand stores.

We need to stop the government from selling treasuries except in the case of an emergency and even then it should be approved on a case by case basis.

We should stop the affordable care act, Medicaid, and Medicare and instead start pumping money into free government clinics and hospitals to be supported by both government and charitable donations. Then eliminate many of the laws and regulations on the private industry and let people choose on their own between private health care and free government clinics.

We need to stop all corporate welfare and fix low income welfare. We need to start putting limits on what welfare can be used for. Currently WIC has limits on what can be bought and we should have the same rules for food stamps as well. There should also be rules about people on welfare needing to, if able, either work, look for work, or do volunteer work. Everyone can work. We should also make more of an effort to provide day care to help single people work as well.

We need to start doing price fixing on public universities and stop out of control cost increases.

We need to stop forcing people through laws to join unions. If someone wants to join a union then let them join, but the government should not be playing a role in forcing people to join unions.

Why go after ACA, medi-cal, medicaid? Other more advanced and freer countries than ours have national health care and they're not going broke. But these other countries, Germany, Japan, Scandinavians etc. also don't have an out of control military spending problem or a huge unequal distribution of wealth going to the fabulously rich either.

Good luck. Haven't you heard? If the moneyed interests don't want it, it ain't gonna happen.

"Moneyed interests" on both sides of the aisle. The government of the USA is in the hip pocket of the international bank.

Infamous Quote from Mayer Amschel Rothschild (Central Bankster):

"Give me control of a nation's money
and I care not who makes the laws."

Yeah, you'd end up with monopolies, fiefdoms and all sorts of things without regulation.

Now, some people would suggest that the govt when Bush was president, didn't have enough control of the market, as it went balls up.

When there are problems all over the place, especially with banks. Do you really want to make it easy for people to do business in banking? You end up with what you've seen.

Oh, you only want free trade with certain countries. Hmm, how's that free trade? It's picking a choosing free trade, and isn't free trade, quite the opposite.

But the question is, do Americans want rubbish jobs with rubbish wages?

Why would any American want any job? Why would any American want to start a business.

On the one hand, no reason for a job when government will give you all you need plus a free Obamaphone?

On the other, why start a business when government will take all the fruits of your labour to give to laggards who suckle at The Great Teat?

Wouldn't that mean that employers would have to offer higher wages to get people to work if they would not work for the "Slave wages"?

Almost all the other countries that provide a so called national health care also have private health care and health insurance available as well.

The banks were already "Regulated" but it made no difference. Creating a law does not prevent something from happening it just establishes a punishment should something happen or forces extra costs on to an industry which ultimately forces out smaller competition. They should have let the banks fail that chose the practices they chose then let the people sue for their money. The result would be other banks being more careful not to make the same mistake and hopefully a more careful consumer on choosing a bank. But government also contributed to that crisis through laws forcing banks to make riskier loans as well. Laws against murder don’t stop murders. Laws against guns don’t stop people from having guns. Laws against prostitution don’t stop prostitution. The regulations that are meant to stop e coli in the food industry at the end doesn’t prevent it from happening. At the end regulation is just a costly tactic that at the end just helps big business kill small business competition.

As for the free trade, I’m stating free trade in countries where American companies are moving to in order to pay lower wages would stop if you made it less beneficial to do so. At the end, America is the world’s consumer driven by our desire to own stuff and spend every dollar we earn. So I’m just saying that by using a tax to equalize American industry would help slow companies from fleeing the countries high labor costs. But at the end it won’t happen anyways so the point is mute. This has been an issue since before the civil war and will be an issue long into the future as well.

But those countries aren't going broke. Some countries have both private and public insurance but only in America among the first world countries, can you die or go broke from lack of health insurance, at least until ACA came along.
