Bingolol the transmission costs would be ridiculously high. Plus the Sahara is run by Muslim terrorists.

Under the Tyranny of Marxism, costs dont matter.lol the transmission costs would be ridiculously high. Plus the Sahara is run by Muslim terrorists.
Sorry man, this isn't like brown outs in America... Germany has a great power infrastructure...
Yep there were looking at being a bit short winter 22/23 but that is no problem... This is Europe, hey France got any extra? yep we will send it over..
You are talking shit... In Europe they saw it coming and they immediately had all countries increase their reserves, they did...
Europe is not Texas, they are prepared...
Thanks for bringing that up, it showed how Governments can be the solution to problems if you don't have a bunch of idiots like that MAGA lot in charge.
The loons believe with absolute certainty that the less the US controls anything the better the world will be. Of course they expect Uncle Sugar to pay the majority of the cost of building and maintaining these solar farms. Why did you choose the Sahara instead of deserts in America?
Bingo
Another reason why that is a terrible idea. Had you done it 10 years ago you would have interfered with a re-greeing equal to the combinded size of Germany and France. in other words , the very thing you are trying to do ultimately (the Green Revolution) you would have hurt seriouisly

700,000 Square Kilometers Of Added Green Vegetation, Climate Change Shrinks Sahara Desert By Whopping 8%!
Almost daily the CO2 Science site brings reports on the impact of climate change on the living world. Hat-tip: Die kalte Sonne here
Recently, CO2 Science brought up a paper in Nature Communications.
Using satellite images, Venter et al. 2018 found an eight percent increase in woody vegetation in sub-Saharan Africa over the last three decades, underscoring the global “greening trend”.
Surada is the spokesperson for stupidityMoroccans are not Muslim terrorists.
The recent terrorist attacks in Spain and Finland have been linked almost exclusively to young men of Moroccan origin, sparking concern that the kingdom has become a breeding ground for jihadists.
There is no ROI without massive subsidies. Wind farms can’t survive on their own production. As a matter of fact one wind turbine over its life span can’t produce enough energy to make another wind turbin. So explain how solar ROI typically takes between 8 and 12 years...
Solar is considered to be a good investment...
Wind is the big boy at t the moment... In Europe they had to create a speciql tax for wind farms because they were making so much money due to Ukraine,,

Terrorism in Europe: The Moroccan Connection
The prominence of Moroccan expatriates among the perpetrators of high-profile attacks contrasts with the kingdom's relative success in containing its own domestic jihadism threat.www.washingtoninstitute.org
I consider surada to be the spokeperson for stupiditySome Moroccans are terrorists. Morocco isn't a terrorist state.
Consider the mass shooters in America.. would you say American is a terrorist country?

Dolts like Jessica-stormlover don‘t understand anything about power. They are fed this pie in the sky crap and believe it without question.
Transmitting power over such a long distance is totally unfeasible.
All it takes is a revolution to depose the moderate government as has happened in other countriesSome Moroccans are terrorists. Morocco isn't a terrorist state.
Consider the mass shooters in America.. would you say American is a terrorist country?
And good luck trying to build new transmission lines over long distances in the US. The cost is enormous even if you can build them. NY recently built 300 miles of 300kv transmission lines and it cost $22.5 billion.Even with local nuke power transmission costs run 70%-85% of costs, so even if the plants were totally free bills would not drop as much as people think. Cost for the Sahara would of course be many time higher just to get to Italy or even Cairo.
These are the same idiots that think conversion to solar and EVS can done by next week n stuff.
That's not the real problem. That can be solved by molten sodium power plants. The real problem is loss of power over distance of transmission. Using unusable ground is a good idea for such things the problem is that unusable ground is typically a long distance from where being used. Super conductors could solve this but we are not there technologically yet. Putting large manufacturing on the edge of unusable land would be a start to utilize deserts. Not a solution for the entire world though.Solar panels start losing efficiency above 77 degrees Fahrenheit.

It is the only thing I can think of when I respond to your stupidity. Why don't you have a response other than a personal attack?
About the best use I have seen for solar and otherwise unusable space is the placement of panels over California auguafers. Otherwise unusable space. Go through inhabited areas. The water below is a natural cooling mechanism and it dramatically cuts down on evaporation of the water being transported. We consistently make small strides. We have made large strides in using hydrogen as a fuel source also. We have found large natural reservoirs of hydrogen underground. The problem currently is storage. It must be stored at high pressure requiring thick metal containers. It is stored at a very low temperature. Unfortunately this very low temp causes the containers to become brittle. Solve this problem and become maybe a trillionare. Currently there is a lady who has been making strides at this named Jennifer Hoyt Hewitt. She already has a product called rubber metal used in the aerospace industry. Allowed wiring to short out less from the extreme vibrations of rocket take off. A chick that hit the gene lottery. Crazy smart and also did a lot of modeling as a teenager. I actually went to elementary school with her. Lol, tried to kiss her in 6th grade. Unfortunately she was immune to my charms. Lol. Oh well can't win them all.I figured there was a reason why nobody has tried this yet.
