Let's Talk About This Obamacare Thing Nicely

To be fair here, I think the g5000 has always been against ObamafailnoCare

And he's got a point.

It shifts the burden onto the middle class.

But the burden is there anyway.

The Mandate makes it cheaper.

But personally? We should have gone "single payer" in my view...or Medicare for all.

Like..um..Senators and Congressmen get.

Complaining about the insurance mandate is more than a bit ridiculous. There is nobody outside of the wealthiest 1% in this country who can afford the cost of healthcare in todays market under any circumstance. Anyone with half a brain would and should purchase health insurance to protect themselves...just in case tragedy happens. No one is invincible, no one is immune to accidents and disease that can VERY quickly wipe the average person out.

Those who choose to not buy insurance are gambling, gambling with my money because my rates increase when they get sick/injured and don't have insurance to cover themselves. So yes, those who choose to go without insurance are freeloading.

Complaining that your freedom is taken away by having to buy insurance is like complaining that you shouldn't be required to have to breath oxygen. You're not losing anything if you were just going to do it anyway to begin with. Complain about something that is worth complaining about.

young people will choose the penalty by default when they see the prices for Obamacare.....it's a basically a choice between $95 penalty for the year 2014 or $195 per month for Obamacare.....i'm sure they'd rather use that money for their car payments...

This is a bogus premise.

Many people go without insurance and buy it later when they can afford it or when they get a job that offers it. Claiming they wait until they get sick is a false assumption.

The individual mandate is necessary so that young and healthy people can be overcharged to help support the subsidies and Medicaid expansion. Democrats openly admit this.

Thus we have Democrats talking out of both sides of their mouth, pretending on the one hand the voluntarily uninsured are an aggregate financial drain, but then admitting they are a financial plus that is needed to pay for other people. This is some bizarre doublethink with respect to the mandate. I don't know why they don't fall to the floor in seieures from cognitive dissonance.

This is what happens when you twist your brain trying to justify robbing people.

Wassamatta, g-man?

You get your obamacare premium statement? Not the 'gift from God' you thought it would be? Not what obama promised you?

We tried to warn you but, well..... As usual, you just wouldn't listen :lmao:

You are one stupid dipshit.

I have opposed ObamaCare since the start, idiot. Your retarded brain has been assuming all this time I am a left winger just because I don't buy the manufactured bullshit of people like yourself.

And now you are trying to construct an entirely manufactured strawman about me and ObamaCare. What a dumb fuck. How are you able to feed yourself with just two brain cells? And how have you missed the fact I am retired military, and therefore earned my Tricare coverage?

How can any sane human being vote for someone who has, as their MAIN PLATFORM, something they oppose?

Is that like you saying that you would have been a democrat in the pre-Civil War South but were still anti-slavery?

Or more like you really liked Hitler and would have voted for him even though he was just a little anti-semitic and had a touch of megalomania....

Yup, that's it.

Someone as completely stupid as you should stay home and not bring down the average IQ of the voting public.

I see the voices in your head have told you I voted for Obama.

So you once again demonstrate you are one stupid fuck.

Look at you go! Building more and more strawmen! BWA-HA-HA-HA!

And you also have missed the multiple, multiple times I have said I stayed home and did not vote after a lifetime of voting Republican. Because the GOP no longer earns my vote. Precisely because stupid fucks like you have hijacked it and trashed it.

You assholes worked hard for Obama's re-election, and you deserve him.

What a narcissistic fuck you are.

It may surprise you to know that I don't follow you or what you post. All I know is that I have always gotten the general feeling of you being disgusting libturd.

And you are.

If you're against obamacare, you're not only a disgusting libturd, you're a conflicted and stupid libturd.

And one other thing..... If you don't vote, then....

SHUT THE FUCK UP.

You have no right, IMO, to say jack shit about politics here or anywhere else.

Vote or shut the fuck up.

What a fucking loser you are.

Too gutless to take a stand -- On anything.

Which brands you as a libturd AFAIC

That's because you listen to the voices in your head instead of thinking critically. You make shit up in your head and then puke it out in public as truth, and now we can all see how you just did it again.

You're busted.

I vote when my vote has been earned. Voting for someone tells them they are doing something right, and I'll be damned if I am going to send that message to the psychopaths who are destroying my party.

I'm glad to see them vomiting on their shirts.

Uh, what - only the 1% can afford Healthcare in today’s market? I can afford Healthcare, my parents can afford healthcare, my wife’s parents can afford healthcare, my brother can afford healthcare, my friends can afford healthcare and none of us are in the 1% of US earners. Please elaborate here.

He's talking about people who can afford Health Care without buying Health Insurance.

A lot of wealthy people self-insure when it comes to that.

the young are going to choose to "gamble" like you said....and not buy Obammycare....they know they can go to the emergency room if need be...

Obammycare NEEDS THE YOUNG to finance Obammycare....

so what do you think is going to happen....?

You don't have to vote FOR someone or FOR something...

You can vote against them, too.

Like Romney. Hardly my cup of Tea. A RINO, a limp-wristed, negotiating, 'swell' that thinks the other side is just as right as he is and can be bargained with.

I did NOT like that guy. But you know what? He wasn't obama.

He could have, and he WOULD have fixed obamacare. That shit about him repealing it on day 1? Never happen. Not gonna happen. No way, no how.

But he would have fixed it.

Understand something... It isn't that I like Republicans; I don't.

It's that I think that dimocraps are the most disgusting, slimey, scum-sucking, back-stabbing, lying, filthy, disease-ridden, Anti-American, socialist, totalitarian, tyrannical FILTH the Earth has ever known.

And no, that's not hyperbole. You have no idea how much I despise, with all my heart and soul, the dimocrap party.

They are everything that is wrong about this Country. They are the most corrupt, back-stabbing, lying scum to have ever walked the face of the earth.

So I don't really vote FOR Republicans, I vote AGAINST dimocraps.

Hate 'em. You can not imagine how much I hate them.

As to me not realizing that you were against obamacare? My bad.

People tend to run together in here and you gotta admit..... Your views are to the left -- Big time. And most leftists are in lock step.

You're not?

Good for you. But you're still a leftist. Always were. Nobody leaves the Republican Party.

That's like nobody grows up then regresses back into childhood. Well.... Nobody with a healthy mind, anyway

When you vote for the lesser of two evils, you get more and more evil choices.

When you vote for the lesser of two evils, you are, by definition, still voting for evil.

Sooner or later, you will figure that out.

Study: Premiums for Young People to Rise in all 50 States

Health insurance premiums for young people will rise in all 50 states under Obamacare, with an average increase of 260 percent, according to a study released Thursday.

The young and healthy segment of the uninsured is considered crucial for the Affordable Care Act to succeed. Former President Bill Clinton suggested last week that Obamacare only works “if young people show up.”
The people receiving subsidies and increased Medicaid coverage are freeloading on the backs of the young and healthy.

If you actually do the math, this becomes blazingly obvious.
But isn't this the case with ALL health insurance, including Medicare Insurance?

That the healthy pay for the sick, so that some day when they become older and more apt to be sick, the "new Healthy" pay for the sick....

and as far as "freeloaders".... don't you think all of these working people who also pay taxes who do not have health insurance coverage through their employers are having to "pay" for the health insurance coverage of those who get it through their employer, via the "expenditure" the federal gvt gives to employers... via a tax write off for the health coverage for their employees?

People who work and pay taxes who do not have employer coverage are paying more in taxes, just for the "coverage" these other folks get through their employer and employer's tax write off on health insurance, and the employee tax free situation on what they pay in premiums from the 1st dollar spent...?

did I read it is $125 BILLION a year in tax expenditures or tax write offs for the employer health coverage a year...a year! And what is the estimated cost for Obamacare? 50 billion? 75 billion? ???

Anyone who gets their insurance through their employer has benefited from the gvt's involvement and tax write off....they are partially being subsidized by the gvt...and have been subsidized by the gvt for over half a century or more?

isn't this what you were saying the other day, regarding expenditures?

would employers give this health care benefit if it were not a tax write off for them?

What happened to talking about Obamacare nicely?

Personally, I hate the ACA, it's a step in the right direction, not what I want though. It makes insurance companies an important part of our healthcare system, which they should be abolished.

As long as we have a fractured capitalist healthcare system without any form of centralized "best price" contract bidding for prescriptions and biotech we will continue to lead the free world in cost of care.

Example: Rather than 10 businesses/hospitals buying 100 replacement knee joints each separately, it should be the government putting out a bid for 1000 replacement to the top manufacturers. Best price wins.

It's only a step in the right direction if you believe the right direction is single payer healthcare. And that is what ObamaCare is; a stepping stone toward single payer.

I am referring to the cost of healthcare WITHOUT having health insurance. No one outside of the 1% can afford the costs of healthcare, without having insurance, should they be hit with any sort of major illness/accident.

Sorry for not being clear at first.

Is this the same government that designed Healthcare.gov, or some other government?

Maybe we could get the Swiss to do it.

Assumptions are made that those who are voluntarily uninsured who are not one percenters are waiting until they get catastrophically ill before they buy insurance. No evidence has ever been presented this assumption is true. In fact, ObamaCare depends on it not being true. And yet ObamaCare proponents use this false assumption in their rhetoric.

Justifying the mandate by articulating this assumption, while at the same time saying we need the extra money the mandate generates from the young and healthy is to be positively schizophrenic.
