What most people don't realize is that he and his wife adopted two children. One of them turned out to be autistic. William Christopher was one of the first parents to travel the country trying to raise awareness and get help for autistic individuals and their families. He didn't know his son was autistic when he adopted him, but he never gave up on him. Took him on all their family vacations. As some of you know, I have two autistic sons. I met William Christopher many years ago in Las Vegas at an autism seminar. He was a great speaker and just knowing what he and his wife went through, made what we were going through easier, and gave me hope for the future. He inspired many parents of autistic children. To me, and to him, that was even more important than his acting. Rest in Peace Father Mulcahy.
