They shout for years about clean bills with no riders...If the GOP-written bill includes certain stipulations, legislation, and rules, that undermine basic democratic policies and desired outcomes then it won't be accepted. It's like if the GOP offered a bill that expands the funding for the federal government but stipulated that certain programs like Social Security or Medicaid, or Medicare, should be privatized or defunded, then of course the Democrats and perhaps even some Republicans, would vote against it. We should ask, what are the Republicans demanding for expanding the debt ceiling?
