Colorado Awards Man 23 500 After Wrongful Open Carry Arrest Mr. Conservative

After a long court case the state of Colorado had agreed to pay the man $23,500 for his wrongful arrest. Of course police are still stating that they did nothing wrong and in fact blame a, “outdated 40-page ‘cheat sheet’ on local laws.”

The settlement for the court clearly labeled that if Sorensen were to take the money that the parameters of the settlement were to remain confidential. They clearly stated that the fact settling with the veteran, “does not constitute an admission by City Defendants of any liability, wrongdoing, or violation of any law.”

However Colorado Springs Police Chief Pete Carey mentioned that there was an internal review discovering that, “Policy violations were discovered and appropriate administrative action was taken.”

In order to make sure an incident like this wouldn’t happen again, police “made updates to reference guides used and instituted more periodic reviews of these documents.”

He should have his god damned ass kicked. Just because you can do something, doesn't mean you SHOULD do it.

Yeah, really, fuck civil rights and liberties. Just like all those pesky brown people who sat at white lunch counters in Alabama. They deserved to get their asses kicked too

They aren't even the same and you know it.

A random citizen is bothered because a black woman refuses to move to the back of the bus? Tough shit, a random citizen is bothered because an unknown person is carrying a weapon through a park where children are present? Serious issue.

You're right, they aren't the same at all. The right to keep and BEAR arms is expressly protected by the Constitution of the United States, public anti-discrimination laws are not. This means you should be even more outraged over this arrest than Rosa Park's arrest.

Just a white savage taking advantage of his rights so he could get a big paycheck. WHy are they trying to live off of the government by filing petty law suits.

Don't be obtuse, the right to bear arms doesn't mean you can carry a gun anywhere you want, any time you want.

Did you know that in Philadelphia in 1776 in fact it was ILLEGAL to carry a gun in the city limits? That's right, AS THEY WRITING THE CONSTITUTION it was illegal to carry a firearm in the city limits.

Did you know that 1776 was before the Constitution and the Second Amendment thereto? Yes, it sounds like a good old law by King George and/or his Governor.

So good job Loyalist, you just proclaimed your support for the Crown.

Progressives come in three flavors: Redcoat, Loyalist, Nobility

In 1776 we had declared ourselves an independent nation and certainly passed many of our own laws, King George's laws didn't apply, especially not to the capitol city of the US.

Further, up until the Civil War, and even after, many western cities outlawed carrying guns within city limits.

Here's a nice little link

10 states outright bar open carry, how do they manage that if its unconstitutional?

Thread title says there was an award by the court, got a link for that? I would like to know the reasoning behind the award.

Colorado isn't one of them.

Now you know.

Even with that link..I don't believe much of it. This is reporting?

As he spoke back to the thug about the violation of his rights and the state’s law, the officer stated, “You’re about to get the shit kicked out of you.”
.
LOL...great, unbiased 'reporting'/

Wait, are you claiming that this court proceeding was forged?

No, I am saying Mr. Conservative is a bullshit site. Calling a cop a thug...what kid of journalism is that.

Probably along the same lines as calling any cop interaction racist event and all cops hate black people. MSNBC journalism at it's finest.

In other words, the court really did award the man $23,000, which nullifies your entry into this thread.
