Marty Robbins.....

I just finished working up El Paso. It didn't take a lot of work since there is so much repetition, but there's also 2 pages of lyrics. Four pages if I didn't compress every four lines into two. The only thing I'm still leery of is the 4:30 length. So I'll only play it for certain audiences. But it's the type of song where, if you get lost or have a brain freeze, you're screwed.

"El Paso" is one of the greatest ballads every written.

However, I think it was Marty Robbins singing it that made it as great at it was.

Marty Robbins was one my Dad's favorite. When he passed I only had one Marty Robbin some on my portable player, I forget what is was vintage 2011. I was on the train when the train jarred and the player skipped and "El Paso" came on. That was my Dad's way of saying Hello.

But there's more!

About 3 years ago my Mom had 6 relatives up from Brasil, we were having a farewell lunch at her house. My sister had like a 2MM song catalogue on the radio app and as we were talking "El Paso" comes on the radio
