The Naval Shipyard was a black man that shot a bunch of people that were black, white and every color on this planet. If a municipality has strick gun laws, but the next county over does not, those laws are ineffective. What we need are laws that hold gun owners accountable for their guns. You store your guns where a crazy can get hold of them, you are resposible for whatever crimes occur with those guns.

When will stupid people like you realize that it is not criminals that shoot up Naval Yard and schools, but crazies. Criminals are not going to shoot up these places, no profit in that. True enough, but the far greater underlying root cause is a culture of death that worships the firearm as a sacrament.

The number of guns isn't going away and it will never be possible to control them from the irresponsible. No more than we could curtail alcohol responsibility by banning it. But what the "good guy with a gun" and the "bad guy with a gun" agree on and have in common is the gun fetish. Absent that value, rampant gun violence would not exist. That's why my position has always been that treating the disease will be far more effective than constantly playing Monday morning whack-a-mole with the symptom.
