It was widely reported that the guns used to comment these first degree murders were legally purchased. A comprehensive background check is only one part of a rational gun control policy which would, IMO, include trigger locks, gun safes, licensing and registration.

And yes, even together they are not a panacea - gun violence will continue, hopefully abated but not disappear since our health care system does not adequately treat mental illness.

Malls are not gun free zones. Some of the people you see in malls have concealed carry permits and are armed. Schools are gun free zones and these killers feel there will be no one there to return their fire.

In the last inning the Pirate Pitcher hit the starting Cubs pitcher and the benches cleared.

On national TV a Pirate player, name of Rodriquez, was shown after the brawl hitting a water cooler over and over with a right hand on national TV.

The message to all little leagurs and all children was horrendous, and the commission of Baseball should in my opinion suspend Rodriguez from baseball.

This is based on my experience youth baseball manager and a retired member of the LE Community.

Me and my cousin practice with our handguns. Just last spring we both fire about 600 rounds of ammo.

We shot sillouettes at 15 feet - 25 yards - 50 yards - and about 75 yards. Rapid fire on a single assailant, and rapid fire on multiple assailents.

We simulated walking in a parking lot, and a man opens up in a "LARGE" parking lot with an assault rifle, and at a distance of about 75 to 80 yards.....we engaged the threat.

Hostage situation ----> Engage a man holding a hostage. Talk and get into some dialogue withe the hostage taker.....then shoot him in the head - missing the hostage.

Hostage Sitution #2 ----> Man with a hostage and an accmplace with a gun. Primary person again talks to the gunman ( a sillouette ) .......and as soon as he shoots the hostage taker in the head.....within a millisecond, the second good guy shoots the accomplice in the head.

Draw from the holster, drop onto the ground and fire.

Primary guy fire rounds into target, runs to his rear. As soon as he gets past the second guy.....the second good guy shoots at the remaining targets.

The above are just SOME of the scenerios that me and my cousin does when we shoot.

I plan on doing these scenerios adn handgun practice in the spring, then again in the fall.

Buy a handgun, practice and get profecient with it. Get your Concealed carry license, and carry that handgun with you.
