MASSIVE SHOOTING in MAINE RIGHT NOW and shooter on the lose

/----/ Heel Up needs to read the Constitution or have someone explain it to her on a third grade level.
The Second Amendment (Amendment II) to the United States Constitution protects the right to keep and bear arms. It was ratified on December 15, 1791, along with nine other articles of the Bill of Rights.[1][2][3] In District of Columbia v. Heller (2008), the Supreme Court affirmed for the first time that the right belongs to individuals, for self-defense in the home,[4][5][6][7] while also including, as dicta, that the right is not unlimited and does not preclude the existence of certain long-standing prohibitions such as those forbidding "the possession of firearms by felons and the mentally ill" or restrictions on "the carrying of dangerous and unusual weapons".[8][9] Wikipedia
Why should I have my Constitutional rights taken away because of some nutcase? Because that is exactly what the Liberals are proposing to do.

We value our guns because we value our children. Take your bullshit elsewhere.

Guns are the leading cause of deaths among children

firearms accounted for nearly 19% of childhood deaths (ages 1-18) in 2021, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Wonder database. Nearly 3,600 children died in gun-related incidents that year. That’s about five children lost for every 100,000 children in the United States. In no other comparable country are firearms within the top four causes of mortality among children, according to a KFF analysis.

I’m from Maine originally and currently live there (in Sagadahoc County). Wouldn’t wish the collective anxiety that us Mainers feel right now on anyone.

1) Mentally unstable, dangerous individuals should be locked up in an institution, once they are determined to be a threat.

2) This stuff needs to stop and we as a nation need to do something.

3) This mental health crisis is a matter of national security. I will vote for whoever has the best plan to deal with it. I have not dismissed the possibility of voting for Trump, for instance.

As a rather non partisan observer, I see this as something that should be the priority of each party. This is just unacceptable.

Be safe, everyone.

If

you valued children you wouldn't support abortion
You would want people armed who will protect them. You don't want that you just want to use the dead to push your agenda. Hamas loves you for now.

Yes, we know how much leftists value their children above their precious abortion laws.

They still don't know where the guy is, but he apparently he stopped shooting people. Perhaps he saved his last bullet for himself. These crazed shooting spree killers often blow their own head off. Or commit suicide by cop.

Or perhaps someone shot back at him and he's bled to death.
Maybe a good guy with a gun shot him?

These shootings are the price we pay for a Second Amendment
Freedom demands responsibility and maturity. Obviously, we're missing a lot of that. The democrats' response is to treat the people like children instead of demanding they act like adults.

/----/ Yes children die from guns, but among children 1 to 4 years of age, drowning was the most common cause of death, followed by congenital abnormalities and motor vehicle crashes. Children most commonly drown in swimming pools (1 to 4 years of age) and in pools, rivers, and lakes4 (≥5 years of age). Among older, school-aged children (5 to 9 years of age), death was relatively rare, representing only 12% of all deaths in children and adolescents. In this age group, malignant neoplasm was the leading cause of death, followed by motor vehicle crashes and congenital abnormalities. Unlike in children 1 to 4 years of age, drowning was only the fourth most common cause of death among those 5 to 9 years of age, which potentially reflects widespread swim training among school-aged children.5

So your point is that one year olds are not shooting each other?

How does a firearm kill someone?

We value our guns more than we value our children
As the Israeli's have found out, sometimes you need guns to protect your children. I wonder how many seeing that gunman turning towards them and pulling the trigger wished they or someone next to them had a gun and knew how to use it.

Do you think we need the SC to interpret the 2A?

Of course we do. That's evident based on the reality that such cases needed to be reviewed by that court.

There are limits to the arms private citizens can bear. Can the government limit your right to bear a nuclear bomb?

It shouldn't matter what lead to a person getting a mental evaluation if the evaluation concludes a person is planning a mass shooting.
Yeah, it should not matter! But does it? And did he commit himself for an evaluation? Or help?
