Memorial Day weekend: Lower Gas Prices: Where are all the threads praising the Pres?

lower than what you buffoon? Jesus Christ.......short bus with NY carb....play with your imaginary yo yo's why don't you....
He'd rather play on here to stupify the lot of us and dazzle us with his lack of insight.

I think you were part of the Greek chorus braying that the President wanted prices to go up..

Obama's own words:
"Obama: I’d like higher gas prices, just not so quickly"

Obama: I’d like higher gas prices, just not so quickly « Hot Air

Memorial Day weekend: Lower Gas Prices: Where are all the threads praising the Pres?

Because when they were going higher..there were sure enough of them directly blaming President Obama..

So..boys and girls?

Where is the love?

What’s sad and telling is there are conservatives who want their fellow Americans to continue to suffer so republicans might realize some perceived political gain – suffer from high unemployment, from the housing market, or in this case high gas prices.

Step 1. Deny things are getting better
Step 2. Claim Obama didn't have anything to do with things getting better
Step 3. Claim things would have gotten better faster if Obama didn't do anything
Seriously?

Things Obama has control over regarding gas prices:
Citing publicly available federal data, the House Natural Resources Committee noted these figures:
Oil and natural gas production
on federal lands is down by more than 40 percent compared to 10 years ago.

Under the Obama administration, 2010 had the lowest number of onshore leases issued since 1984.

The Obama administration held only one offshore lease sale in 2011.

Oil production is up..and gas prices are lower.

Still no love.

Typical.

Another Obama could have done something example:

In January, Hovensa entered into a consent decree with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and Justice Department in which the company agreed to invest $700 million on pollution controls after a series of chemical releases affected people living downwind from the refinery.
Hovensa also agreed to pay a $5.4 million penalty for violating the Clean Air Act.

With the additional modification costs and fines, it was no longer economical to operate the refinery and the decision was made to close it.

Hovensa Refinery Closing on St. Croix

This St. Croix refinery could NO LONGER AFFORD primarily due to $700 million more in pollution controls needed to meet EPA!!!
So because of Obama's EPA..
1) 1,500 people working at the refinery will be unemployed!
Cost @ $300/week for 99 weeks..
2) 50,000 total population of St. Croix and for that a 350,000 barrels a day of gas refinery to be closed.
3) Most of the 350,000 barrels used on East coast

So you people on the east coast.. Thank Obama that your supply is reduced and therefore your prices increase... not today.. but in one year as this refinery is closed!

Well think what the prices would come down to if the above production was NOT 40% lower but 40% higher??? Almost 80% swing on Federal lands alone!
And Obama can't do anything about that?

Actually..no one is that deluded.

By the way..government spending never ever seems to be a problem with you guys when a conservative runs the show. And percentage wise..Conservative Republicans vastly outspend everyone.

Bar none.

Reagan being one of the biggest pros. As was Bush v2.

oh its $4.58 here btw....

It's $3.31 here.

Must be a state or local government thing.

Don't you America-haters ever get tired of lying???

The oil monopoly has stopped drilling on Fed lands on purpose to get the prices up, not because they are not getting permits. The oil monopoly let most of their 2010 permits sit idle!!!!!!

Oil and gas: Two-thirds of federal drilling permits sat idle in 2010 -- 01/13/2011 -- www.eenews.net

Two-thirds of federal drilling permits sat idle in 2010

Greenwire: Thursday, January 13, 2011

Oil and gas companies drilled fewer new wells on public lands in 2010 than in any other year over the past decade, leaving nearly two-thirds of their drilling permits unused, according to federal records obtained by Greenwire.

The Bureau of Land Management issued 4,090 drilling permits in fiscal 2010, but oil and gas operators drilled 1,480 new wells, using about 36 percent of permits issued.

BLM's permitting data refute industry assertions that the Obama administration is blocking oil and gas development to protect Western landscapes and wildlife, said Dave Alberswerth of the Wilderness Society, a former Interior Department official in the Clinton administration.

"The downturn in drilling on public lands is purely a function of internal corporate decisions and declining natural gas prices, not [Interior Secretary Ken] Salazar's oil and gas policies," Alberswerth said.

Lower gas prices are largely due to slower economic activity around the world. It looks like we're entering another worldwide recession.

Thanks Obama!

Interesting. There WERE a lot of ConservaRepubs blaming Obama for this, weren't there? Look at my predictions from last April.
One down.

Yup.....they did it on purpose.............that explains why they upped production to maximum levels on state leases and private leases. Right now they're producing as much as they possibly can on those properties.

The demand for gas is low because there are so few of us driving to work nowadays.

Seriously, rush hour in Indianapolis in the morning today is like 10:00 am used to be 5 years ago. It's just a tad sobering.
More people work from home. As long as the work gets done, it's more economical for all concerned.

Yeah! Just be homogenous! ACCEPT the cards Gubmint deals to you! FORGET that YOU are an individual and DIFFERENT...

*Fucking DOLT*
Fight the power, T!

The government told us that they didn't control gas prices despite the fact that I paid 4.28 a gallon to fill my car.

However, it is because of state taxes added to the price of my gas which in turn puts it higher.

In other words. the government in my state makes more profit off gas than the dealers or the oil companies.
I'm sure you will blame Obama in November.

The oil monopoly has not upped any production anywhere. The increased production on private lands has come from small independents, not Big Oil, but you knew that already!
