Merrick Garland held in contempt of Congress

It’s called law enforcement privilege.
This?

And yet that is exactly what is happening under a common-law doctrine called the “law enforcement privilege.” The privilege empowers police and prosecutors to rely on the results of secret investigative methods while withholding information from the defense about how those methods work.

Ok Simp, how the fuck does that relate to this situation?

There’s more to it than that.

It is the constitutional responsibility of the Executive to determine whether and when materials in law enforcement files may be distributed publicly, and this responsibility cannot and will not be delegated to Congress.

Already distributed, Stupid.

What ever happened to Equal treatment under the law?

The great American patriot Steve Bannon is heading to the US Penitentiary for the exact same thing.

If its good enough for Bannon, it should be for Garland. After all, Bannon is going to need a cellie to wash his drawers and keep the house in order.

Yeah. It kinda matters.

Big difference between a felony and a misdemeanor.

So what's next? Executive privilege and months of political grandstanding by the right until the election is over and nothing happens?

Sounds boring.
He will be charged with obstruction and contempt in January

Sure. Then what?

Have you not been paying attention?

It will take years for this crap to get through the courts.

Plus he may have immunity.

Good luck. Enjoy your hope.

Not really he’ll have a trial before the end of 2025

I didn't, Simp.

Grow a brain.
Nope. You keep ignoring the fact that law enforcement privilege is a part of executive privilege. The president can assert privilege when they believe releasing the material may harm law enforcement.
