Biden Administration Can't Be Sued For Pressuring Social Media Companies To Remove Misinformation, SCOTUS Ruling/

the government didn’t make them do anything. In fact, there were plenty of times when the social media companies didn’t do anything and nothing happened.
There was a very connected former FBI lawyer running twitter.... this is their trick... plant a puppet where you need him and say when caught I didn't know he was working there...
When the media lets you do anything you want and the FBI is in your pocket you can do a lot of damage....
and they went to twitter and facebook and told them what to not allow and what to allow...

Of immediate significance, the decision means that the Department of Homeland Security may continue to flag posts to social media companies such as Facebook and X that it believes may be the work of foreign agents seeking to disrupt this year’s presidential race.

This ruling came at a good time. This will become Trumps weapon in just a few more months. :dunno:

Do you people-of-the-cult ever tire of chasing conspiracy theories?

It’s always a goddamn conspiracy with you lunatics.

The same way that the Biden administration did... he will threaten to pull their liability protections.
The Biden administration didn’t do that.

No president can “pull their liability protections” anyway. That makes no sense.

You do it through Congress and the Senate. There are members on both sides of the isle who want to do this already. A president who was determined could potentially form a coalition of votes to make it happen. Its a risk that terrifies social media companies. That is simply a fact.

The Supreme Court on Wednesday shot down a lawsuit against the Biden administration over its efforts to urge social media companies to take down alleged misinformation about Covid-19, election fraud and other topics.

Two red states and five social media users do not have legal standing to sue various federal officials over their communications with the tech platforms, the court held in a 6-3 ruling.

The court’s majority — which consisted of three conservative justices and three liberals — said that the role of the social media companies in establishing and enforcing their content-moderation policies meant the plaintiffs weren’t directly censored by the government. The majority also noted that the social media platforms were not named as defendants in the case.
Judges in the US are expected to be impartial and make decisions based on the law, not on political considerations.

However, it is acknowledged that judges may be influenced by their personal beliefs or ideologies to some extent. While judges are not supposed to be overtly political in their decision-making, their interpretations of the law can sometimes be perceived as reflecting political leanings.

The selection process for judges in the US, including appointments and elections, can also be influenced by political factors. Some judges may be nominated or elected based on their perceived alignment with certain political ideologies or parties.

Overall, while judges are meant to be independent and impartial, the reality is that politics can sometimes play a role in the judicial system. It is important for judges to uphold the rule of law and maintain their judicial independence to ensure fair and just outcomes in legal proceedings.

China had a more authoritarian government that restricted freedom of speech, press, and assembly, while the US had a democratic government that upheld civil liberties.

It seems, in terms of human rights, there are no differences between China and America. They are now both authoritarian governments. lol. :)

Passing bipartisan legislation really isn’t in Trump’s wheelhouse. He spends too much time trashing his opponents to be able to lead them in a coalition.

It’s a fact that lots of things COULD happen. Doesn’t make it likely.

Saying he can legally force people to do something is an absurd stretch.
