Egypt s Top Muslim Cleric Declares ISIS a Danger to Islam

Egypt's most influential Muslim cleric has recently denounced the terrorist group commonly known as the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS).

Grand Mufti Shawqi Allam, considered the North African nation's highest religious authority, said on the state news agency MENA that ISIS "poses a danger to Islam and Muslims."

"An extremist and bloody group such as this poses a danger to Islam and Muslims, tarnishing its image as well as shedding blood and spreading corruption," said Allam.

"[They] give an opportunity for those who seek to harm us, to destroy us and interfere in our affairs with the [pretext of a] call to fight terrorism."

Allam is very influential, as Reuters notes, so that the "grand mufti's view represents the opinion of Al Azhar, one of the world's oldest seats of Muslim learning, which influences the opinions of Muslims worldwide."
This is a great example how good was the Arab Spring, and why its good that Egypt see the danger lies in radical Islam and common terrorist organizations, thumbs up for Egypt!

Nice try dummy, just to remind all aliens we are in 2014, and if you are an atheist, please explain why you believe such things really happened...about 5,000 years ago.
Stop being so anti, you know its true but instead of saying something or trying to disprove it you simply try to derail the thread with your lack of reading comprehension I noticed many anti-"Zionists" are infected with, turning the fire against ... the Jews and the Christians? ... you are hypocrite, misleading, demonizing, and ignorant - more than anything you're an ignorant.

Don't have to believe a religious text is literally true, can quote from it and show how people who might believe it will use it to be really crappy to their fellows. Just as another religion does. And in this instance, it's the former reliigon who originated the being crappy to people stuff that the latter religion is based upon.

Next time you wanna bash Islam or any other faith for staying silent on the minoritry who get all the press, consider that's a sword that cuts both ways.

Problem with this is that it is NOT Jews, Christians, or any other religious denomination spreading the hate, filth, death and destruction that the radical Muslims are intent on spreading. It is NOT a religion. It is a cult or even should probably be considered a hate group.

So your entire arguement hangs on whether Islam's a religion or not? Good luck with that.

Can make a far more convincing arguement Christianity isn't a reliigon since it's entire existence relies on a pre-extant religion, Judaism to establish its validity while it simultaneously is mutually exclusive to the faith it depends on.

and directly refutes you claim that the Muslim community is not speaking out against ISIS.

Of course not. My entire argument is based upon their actions. They are indefensible. They are a big ugly oozing zit on the face of humanity.

You don't see this again do you?
Radical Islam is a cult - and like most religious cults they relay on religious aspects.

Then you should read your Bible. As I'd posted, the Bible itself is where all the killing you now condemn comes from. Consequently, it absolutely is defensible because the Bible says to do it.

I'm not even religious. I call it as I see it.

I concur, all religions are a right load of old bollocks.

Can't disagree with this because it's not an opinion, it's fact. Ask your priest, minister, whoever.

"What would happen if we didn't have Judaism, or Judaism was somehow wrong? Would Christianity still be true and correct?" :)

Still Egypt is like a fish in the sea of 2(?) Billion Muslims.
This SHOULD have cause the Muslims states to unite together and take action against ISIS dissing their name at the very least..UK sent some humanitarian aid though.

Well, I don't practice any religions. I don't have to ask anyone anything. All I have to do is open my eyes and SEE.

What actions has the Muslim community taken against the LARGE radical element within their ranks? With all the death and destruction the radicals do in the name of their religion, you would think the protest against such actions would be so LOUD.

True, but there is only one that is responsible for spreading massive amounts of suffering, death and destruction on a worldwide scale.

LOL first the claim is that NO one is speaking out-----now it changes to no one is speaking LOUD enough. I know how this ends. You won't be happy until they all kill themselves.
