Oh I think the Russian losses are massive. But the force is also massive. Some of the Russian generals were more political appointees than they were real military men. Pretty bad idea when you're going up against a NATO trained Force. It would appear that they have reorganized and are under a new direction. Remember an invading Force always takes the heavier losses because the defending forces are familiar with the terrain and their well dug in. Conventional invasion would have included a slow infantry creep instead of a blitzkrieg type. The combination of inexperienced leadership and underestimating the enormous amount of high tech NATO equipment waiting for them cost them dearly. Ultimately however I blame zelensky for not signing a few stupid little pieces of paper and then fighting it in court later yes even in the Russian court system. Putin is not invincible even in Russia. He doesn't always win there.

Putting the Ukrainian civilians in between him and a pissing contest is the worst decision I can imagine being made by anybody regardless of what they're claiming to fight for.
It was totally needless unless of course he was protecting some clandestine Western business interests which I wholeheartedly believe.
