Without Californians that go and spend their money in Vegas you guys would be toast.

Of the 40+ millions visitors of Las Vegas each year about 30+ % of that are from California based from hotel bookings only.
I do believe is far higher than that because there are lots of visitors from Ca that travels early Fridays then come back at night or dawn. It’s hard and cost one armed to book a hotel on Fridays and Saturdays.
From San Diego to Las Vegas about 4+ hours drive but on Friday afternoon will take me 6 to 8 hours because of traffic with friends all the time of course. On the way back late Sunday afternoon is also very bad.
I never drive alone but I fly alone or with my wife when I’m in the mood and mostly stay at Aria where I get better compensations. Which include free room on weekend.

But I saw a lot of jobs being offered in the STEM fields...at high wage.

Sorry, Charlie! You are not qualified as an expert on California based on a trip or two there. I doubt you had time to visit all of the filthy areas one sees on social media and occasionally on the news. Unless you had a guide willing to show you these areas, you would not be expected to find them.

i cant comment about n.cal....but i can about s.cal....im sure on your drive through the l.a.basin you stopped and enjoyed some of s.cals. finest cities like Bell,East L.A.,Bellflower,Montebello and Hawaiian Gardens....lovely places....

I continued their legacy and when I’m gone my kids will carry on my legacy. My whole family serve food all over California during holidays like Christmas and Thanksgiving.

I am paying a friend going around homeless areas looking for homeless veterans ( except drug addict ).

There are times it’s get crowded in my centers (with S ). I helped wash these poor people smelly feet for hours. Some has swollen feet.

I have had many great experiences in California on business trips in the mid 1980s and the early 2000s. California is, for the most part, a beautiful state with lots of great cuisine and entertainment. My brother lived in Los Angeles for several years back in the 1960s. I visited him several times. Life was good all over back then.

What has convinced me that California has turned into a shithole is the current condition and the worsening of it as evidenced by news media, social media and comments from friends that have seen for themselves the squalor that exists in several areas over the state.
