New York governor inching closer to legalizing prostitution

A business that does not lend itself to legalization. There will be legal whoring and just as much illegal trade as ever. Maybe that's good enough for you.

Not really logical.

Would you eat at an unlicensed restaurant when legal ones are available?

At a legal brothel, you know the girls are all there of their own free will, you know they've been checked for diseases, and you know the cops aren't going to kick in the door while your pants are down.

If they were that smart, they wouldn't be prostitutes.

Actually, a lot of them tend to be pretty savvy businesswomen. They are often experts at reading their customers and knowing how to extract the most amount of money for the least amount of effort.

New York Governor Kathy Hochul will make $1 million in public funds available to provide health care to sex workers over a span of two years. The money provides funding to two organizations for primary and sexual care, and even dental care, to potential prostitutes.

One of the benefiting organizations, Callen-Lorde, has described itself as one of the "global leaders in LGBTQ+ health care."

On its website, the organization endorses the decriminalization of prostitution: “Callen-Lorde firmly and without reservation supports the health, rights, and dignity of sex workers. We are opposed to laws that disproportionately regulate and criminalize bodily autonomy, sexuality and sexual and reproductive health and rights. We support the total decriminalization of sex work as an important step to protect and respect the human rights of all sex workers,” the website stated.

The organization also celebrated June 2023 legislation signed by Hochul to declare New York state a sanctuary for those who have illegally given children sex-change drugs, hormones, or surgeries.

So once again democrats have taken it upon themselves to make things that are illegal legitimate, like illegal immigration. It is a repetitive behavior of not liking a law and simply ignoring the law whether the law is against prostitution or gender reassignment for children or illegal immigration, etc.

Does this mean that New York will no longer have an issue with Trump paying the sex worker Stormy Daniels all that money to keep quiet about her sex acts?

I'm guessing not. Again, picking and choosing laws you hate and like, all based on political whims is what the democrat party is all about. Sure, you will go to jail for not paying taxes and lying on gun registration forms EXCEPT..............if your last name is Biden.
They have to put all of those illegals to work and make sure they don't spread diseases like they do in other third world countries.

What envelope?

You mean like the pot envelope?
The Queer in the military envelope?
The Black people voting envelope?
Queen in the military isn't illegal. Black people voting isn't illegal. Although it's interesting that you find whoring the equal to black people voting. I understand equalizing whoring and butt fucking. Yes. Good point. Fentanyl is eating pot heads alive.

Legalize prostitution and the next step is trafficking just as it is every other place prostitution is legal.

It’s such uplifting wholesome and safe work.

Oh, and taxing it is helpful to liberal Democrat controlled state and local governments.

Good dental care should improve their...oh never mind.

There are plenty of unregulated hoes and pimps operating in Nevada.

Not everyone wants to operate within the legal system and they don't.
No. They won't. There are men who won't pay the brothel price. Men who refuse to wear a condom. There are whores who won't or can't get a clean medical certificate. They see no point in paying taxes when they never had to pay taxes before.

Was this girl kidnapped and trafficked? Teen girl trafficked from Mavericks game found 10 days later in Oklahoma, 8 people arrested
Or did she ask an independent businessman for a job. He said she said.

Jeffrey Epstein was a good man. He took poverty stricken girls off the street and gave them job training.

Pimps supply the unusual. A pimp will always have an underperforming girl that a man can beat to death, for a price.

What the current momentum towards legalization means is that there are thousands of unemployable illiterate vaginas that have crossed the border who have no other practical application. The cartels need legalization.

When prostitution is illegal, prostitutes are criminals. But in recent years, the law has attempted to treat prostitutes as “victims.” And, of course, in many ways they are indeed victims.

An illegal alien who gets “put to work” as a prostitute is certainly the victim of criminal actions, for example.

But efforts by the legal system to take that into account doesn’t mean that sex workers are all victims. And if it is legalized, the State becomes a kind of employer for the prostitutes. This isn’t the hallmark of a healthy society.

That should make Donald Trump happy.

It's the hallmark of a society in decay. The practical application is that the political processes are slowly slipping under the control of organized crime. The border, drugs, prostitution, all sliding into the control of criminals.
Seriously, there is not much available for the women who have come here illegally. They whored their way here, it's nothing to chain them to a bed.

That's what this is all about and why New York is so anxious to Legalize whores. The shelters are overwhelming.

You shouldn't play stupid.
People may not know you're playing.

How so?

If they have to be registered with the state like a hair dresser or any other profession the state can ensure they are doing it of their own free will and offer sanctuary for those that are not
I used to agree with you but I am no long so sure. I have no idea how this causes a real increase in human trafficking but the how is actually far less important than the reality. It seems that actual studies in this subject by people that are not interested in the outcome almost universally come up with data showing that human trafficking increases, including child sex trafficking. There is no doubt in my mind that it would be FAR better for prostitutes for them to have legal recognition and protections BUT it seems that a larger number of people will be trafficked, abused and harmed.

This goes heavily against my priors, as I think it does yours, but a serous look at the data has forced me to change my stance on the issue. I do not know why this profession results are so at odds with prohibition but I cant argue with reality.

It would be nice if any of the 'pro' side would actually address these facts as well. Most of these types of discussions simply boil down to ideological bickering rather an actual look at any data.
