The New York Times Paid No Taxes in 2014 - Breitbart

oct 2 2016 The New York Times has excited the Clinton campaign and the rest of the media with a revelation that Republican nominee Donald Trump declared a $916 million loss in 1995 that might have resulted in him not paying taxes in some subsequent years.
The implication, reinforced by CNN’s Jake Tapper on State of the Union on Sunday morning, is that Trump “avoided” paying taxes, when in fact his tax liability was zero.

But the Times itself has “avoided” paying taxes — in 2014, for example.

As Forbes noted at the time:

… for tax year 2014, The New York Times paid no taxes and got an income tax refund of $3.5 million even though they had a pre-tax profit of $29.9 million in 2014. In other words, their post-tax profit was higher than their pre-tax profit. The explanation in their 2014 annual report is, “The effective tax rate for 2014 was favorably affected by approximately $21.1 million for the reversal of reserves for uncertain tax positions due to the lapse of applicable statutes of limitations.” If you don’t think it took fancy accountants and tax lawyers to make that happen, read the statement again.

Yup, NYT got a refund, because it paid its taxes but the losses exceeded the income.

Trump yells and screams and does not pay taxes for twenty years, and then yells and screams about somebody getting food stamps. Trump says he is smart and the recipient is a cheat.

Some folks are clearly confused, both lamenting AND celebrating unpaid taxes. All depends on who's doing it as to whether it's good or bad.

Translation: They did not pay taxes and did exactly the same as Trump, but Trump's actions were evil, because he is Trump.

I have to say, the media has turned completely moronic this election. This is really basic accounting stuff and yet everyone seems to be outraged. I suppose this is what the Clintons trying to purchase the election through the media does.

And they're also not evil because he is, same shyte.

Indeed, neither of them is evil for not paying taxes.

NYT is evil for propaganda regarding the tax code, releasing illegal material and for their hypocrisy though.

The Clinton's deducted Bill's old UNDERWEAR on their taxes.

I call that following the tax code...the Clinton's claim that it's wrong to try to pay less taxes.

So, they have much fewer people believing their bullshit and it hurt sales. And it's okay that they got a refund due to losses, but you are upset that Trump may have gotten tax breaks for his big loss. Got it, you fucking hypocrite.

When did Trump "yell and scream" about people getting food stamps? One thing is clear, the NYT yelled and scream about Trump not paying taxes even though he suffered a huge loss. The NYT, on the other hand, made a profit and still paid no taxes. Furthermore, it broke the law when it published Trump's tax return.

Only a douche bag would defend the behavior of the NYT.

The NYT is running for president?

But again, thanks for highlighting how our tax system is broken.

You people are truly fucking retarded.

Do they pay their bills at a fraction that they owe? Do they use undocumented workers?
Then get back to us you fool!

In the weird darkness of your mind.
