I will try to remember the line of thought when small government republican applaud removing regulations and oversite, just to be removing regulations and oversite as it is always a good thing.
A lot of people on here still do not realize, the de-funders and dis-banders are really talking about replacing, not doing away with it to live in 24/7/365 lawlessness. Logic goes out the window at the extremes.

As a liberal, I applaud The Donald's policy of rescinding two regulations for every new one enacted ... I hope they're focusing on conflicting regulations ... every timber sale around here spends five years in Federal court trying to cipher out which of the half dozen sets of rules have to be followed ... and another five years to implement the court rulings ... Congress just adds layer after layer of legislation without considering conflicts ...

The OP is about the trucking industry and have you ever looked at the rules and regulations governing when a driver can drive and when he can't ... we'd need a college degree to figure it all out ... it's nuts ...

As the chart shows, Oregon has already defunded their police ... what few we do keep stay busy fighting evil ... arson, drugs and murder ... sometimes they don't have time to fool with non-violent crimes ... sorry your car got stolen, if it shows up someplace we'll let you know ... that's the price we pay for no sales tax, can't get any bluer than that ...
