No, the USA is NOT Exceptional

We always hear how the US is an exceptional nation, but it simply isn't true. Exceptional nations don't have 160 people killed over the weekend in their cities. They have don't have riots and looting in the streets. Their major urban cores don't look like Hiroshima after the bomb. They don't have tens of thousands dying of drug overdoses every year. They don't have one of the most expensive education systems with one of the poorest outcomes.

I have been to 17 countries and while all of them have their set of issues, most of them don't experience the things I listed above on a scale anywhere near what we do. There was a time when America may have been exceptional, but that day is behind us. Neither the country nor the people in it are worthy of that title. The brutal truth is we've become the trailer trash of the industrialized world.

You need to travel more.....I think some people suffer from the grass is always greener.....

Totally agree. But you have to compare it to 330mil vs their populations. Lot of countries are as big as one of our states.

If you take educational stats out of ghettos. We'still beat everyone. I look at education stats that don't include scores of our Mogadishus where not one student is proficient.
if you take all negatives out of your calculations, you will most surprisingly end up with a positive result.
When I see NOT ONE BALTIMORE high schooler was proficient in anything, that can't count. Schools that feel 60% gradgiation rate is adequate, they don't count. Not fair to parents who don't make bastards for a monthly check.DON'T COUNT!!!

Trailer parks are not the sites of the carnage. Try again.
you idiots are still smack in the middle of the first wave. especially trailer parks, not known for healthy people with access to good health care, are definitely a site of carnage. Covid19 diagnosed or not.

America is Exceptional, primarily because of your Constitution, culture of forgiveness, open debate and opportunity in a more Free Market system. Some wish to change that.

Marxism is so horrible that none of the Marxists who were born in the U.S. ever moves to a Marxist country.

I don't understand why anyone who lives in the U.S. would want to get rid of the things that make our country so great. Ilhan Omar immigrated here, but she recently said that she wants to dismantle the things that make the U.S. so great. I don't understand why she doesn't just move to one the countries that already has the anti-capitalist policies that she supports, such as Venezuela, Cuba, North Korea, or Zimbabwe.

Dunno. I hear blacks are dropping like flies from both the Chinese virus and thug culture. Do you think MSM is lying?

Seems to me that those who keep pushing the "exceptionalism" stuff are choosing to ignore the fact that we all have different priorities.

For many, just being happy and content in their lives is a higher priority than desperately chasing riches or fame.

So, if just being happy and content were the main components of "exceptionalism" - yeah, I doubt we'd be exceptional.

I think the U.S. is exceptional, and I totally support the right of each person to choose their own priorities.

I'm a libertarian. I support each person's right to pursue their own version of the American dream.
