NOAA comes clean ...

1.5 degrees warmer..and then....we are the water planet in the movie "Interstellar".

Shit, I was hoping for this water planet.........

NOAA has been posting the annual global temperature by late February or early March ... these new turbo-charged computers make this work easy ... so I was genuinely curious as to why they were taking so long this year ... well, now they have and it's bad news folks ...

Posted June 28th, 2022 ...

20th Century average was 14ºC ... today it's 15ºC ... [yawn] ... in the 22nd Century it will be 16ºC maybe ... maybe not ... these are tiny changes over long periods of time ... nothing anyone will even notice, let alone cause any damage ... meh ...

This is just a single year drop ... or just a seven year break from climbing temperatures ... if this is inexplicable, then we must admit we don't know very much about the climate system ... because CO2 emissions haven't taken a break ...
How DISHONEST a citation.

Here's the page you creepily Cherry picked it from:

Climate Change: Global Temperature

BY REBECCA LINDSEY AND LUANN DAHLMAN REVIEWED BY JESSICA BLUNDEN
JUNE 28, 2022

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Earth’s temperature has risen by 0.14° Fahrenheit (0.08° Celsius) per decade since 1880, but the Rate of Warming since 1981 is more than Twice that: 0.32° F (0.18° C) per decade.
  • 2021 was the sixth-warmest year on record based on NOAA’s temperature data.
  • Averaged across land and ocean, the 2021 surface temperature was 1.51 °F (0.84 °Celsius) warmer than the twentieth-century average of 57.0 °F (13.9 °C) and 1.87 ˚F (1.04 ˚C) warmer than the pre-industrial period (1880-1900).
  • The Nine years from 2013 through 2021 rank among the 10 warmest years on record.
  • Full 2021 report

Given the tremendous size and heat capacity of the global oceans, it takes a massive amount of heat energy to raise Earth’s average yearly surface temperature even a small amount. The roughly 2-degree Fahrenheit (1 degrees Celsius) increase in global average surface temperature that has occurred since the pre-industrial era (1880-1900) might seem small, but it means a significant increase in accumulated heat.
That extra heat is driving regional and seasonal temperature extremes, reducing snow cover and sea ice, intensifying heavy rainfall, and changing habitat ranges for plants and animals—expanding some and shrinking others. As the map below shows, most land areas have warmed faster than most ocean areas, and the Arctic is warming faster than most other regions.

Only a few locations, most of them in Southern Hemisphere oceans, cooled over this time period. NOAA Climate.gov map, based on data from NOAA Centers for Environmental Information.

Global temperature in 2021

According to the 2021 Global Climate Report from NOAA National Centers for Environmental Information, Every month of 2021 was warmer than average, Despite the Cooling influence from the La Niña climate pattern in the tropical Pacific. The "coolest" month was February, which was 1.15 ˚F warmer than average; the rest of the year temperatures were more than 1.4 ˚F warmer than average.

Animated gif of bar graph of annual temperatures from 1976 to 2021
Map of global average surface temperature in 2021 compared to the 1981-2010 average, with places that were warmer than average colored red, and places that were cooler than average colored blue. The graph shows global temperatures compared to the 20th-century average each year from 2021 (right) back to 1976 (left)–the last year the world was cooler than average. NOAA Climate.gov image, based on data from NOAA NCEI.
According to NCEI,

The year culminated as the sixth warmest year on record for the globe with a temperature that was 0.84°C (1.51°F) above the 20th century average.
The years 2013–2021 all rank among the Ten warmest years on record. The year 2021 was also the 45th consecutive year (since 1977) with global temperatures,
at least nominally, above the 20th century average. Of note, the year 2005, which was the first year to set a new global temperature record in the 21st century, currently ties with 2013 as the 10th warmest year on record and 2010 ranks as the ninth warmest on record.

""The amount of future warming Earth will experience depends on how much carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases we emit in coming decades. Today, our activities—burning fossil fuels and clearing forests—add about 11 billion metric tons of carbon (equivalent to a little over 40 billion metric tons of carbon dioxide) to the atmosphere each year. Because that is more carbon than natural processes can remove, atmospheric carbon dioxide increases each year.

side by side graphs showing future carbon emissions (left) and projected temperatures that would result (right)
Image by Katharine Hayhoe, from the 2017 Climate Science Special Report by the U.S. Global Change Research Program.
According to the 2017 U.S. Climate Science Special Report, if yearly emissions continue to increase rapidly, as they have since 2000, models project that by the end of this century, global temperature will be at least 5 degrees Fahrenheit warmer than the 1901-1960 average, and possibly as much as 10.2 degrees warmer.
If annual emissions increase more slowly and begin to decline significantly by 2050, models project temperatures would still be at least 2.4 degrees warmer than the first half of the 20th century, and possibly up to 5.9 degrees warmer.

I have proved you wrong...Ace.

Right, Ace. You put up as your "proof" the claims from the very people most interested in creating carbon credits, effecting social and economic restrictions and pocketing the profits from the fraud as your "proof." Hilarious.

Jack, do you have ANY idea at all that the people and agencies writing that tripe work with computers and technology a quarter century out of date? Even the IRS still works in DOS, and you espect me to change my life for the worst on THEIR word, people who fail on every level of their responsibilities from simply controlling the border to protecting the value of our dollar, and securing our energy, you dull-witted misanthrope?

I love hearing the bleating of people who never invented a thing or have even one patent to their name. It's refreshing to see people with limited vision and no actual skill to move any technology forward.
All I hear is the ignorance of a bigot describing a person they have not met, do not know

Inventions and patents are now the standard to discuss windmills and solar panels. Well, if that is the cardinal rule you fail.

Limited vision is when the cardinal runs into a glass window. It is right before your eyes but you dont see the heavy industry consuming millions of tons of chemicals, elements, natural resources spewing out tons of toxic pollution 24/7 to manufacture these inefficient solar and wind trash.

Skill moving forward? The footprint and the price goes up. Millions of acres of land and so much money they cant print it in less than 25 years.

Your anger is misplaced, you act as a bigot.

Windmills have been around for a long time. And, they don't cause cancer.
Pretty clean. Just need efficient and long lasting battery storage.
Unless you can invent nuclear fusion, green sources of energy are going to be our way forward.
Whether you like it or not. :)
"JUST"???????

lmao

Windmills are not clean, heavy industry manufactures them, creating more pollution than any other way we produce electricity.

You are ignorant, temperature has not risen one bit since the last century

Models project? Computers? The things man must program? Computers, in which it is literally impossible to factor in all data related to temperature.

When you use computer models, you get whatever politically correct result that keeps the millions in research dollars coming in.

If you computer model is good enough, you grt to jet across the world and stay in a resort city eating the richest dinner in the world while pontificating about your mad predictions of the future.

“It was the coolest vehicle I’ve ever experienced.” That was a colleague’s take on the Rivian R1T, a battery-powered truck that he had a chance to drive last weekend. He’s an F-150 guy, but this EV got to him. You could hear it in his voice. He was most impressed with the other-worldly acceleration, which, frankly, can’t be compared to any truck with an internal combustion engine and a transmission and a transfer case. That, in a nutshell, is the allure of an electric vehicle.
Unless, of course, you believe it’s great for the environment and doesn’t cost a thing to drive — both of which are lies.
In fact, there’s plenty of downside to an EV. It’s just that you won’t hear any of it from Pete Buttigieg or Gavin Newsom or any of their leftist fellow-travelers, all of whom behave as if they’ve got stock in all the right car companies. As political analyst Mark Tapscott writes:
There are a host of reasons why the Left is absolutely determined to force Americans out of their privately owned, gasoline-powered cars and trucks and into unreliable public transportation and costly Electric Vehicles (EVs), none of which have to do with “saving the environment.”
The central reason the Left loves EVs is that the process of forcing Americans to convert to electric-powered transportation will destroy forever the incredible freedom and prosperity associated with privately owned gas-powered vehicles. The future will instead be centrally controlled by rich elitists and their corrupt politicians, power-hungry bureaucrats, and ideologically driven “experts.”

Yeah, there's downsides to everything. You guys hate on EV's so much it's like you don't know what it means to be an American.

Remember: Americans invent stuff. We solve problems. We don't look at a sub-optimal solution and say "Good enough!"

Is it because you have never made anything that you want everyone else to sit in a cave?

Yeah, the facts state otherwise. Honestly, I don't know why you bother if you won't do just a little research into your idiotic claims.

In 2021? Compared to an entire century?

You are comparing an one year high to a century.

How about at the end of this century we compare averages.

Further, there is no, one global temperature ti compare.

More crap that confuses you is all this is.

Look, I'm not going to waste a lot of time here. It's embarrassing. Fear and ignorance are no excuses for straight up denial.
Fact of the matter is there has been a ton of research done on climate change since the 1970's. By a lot of organizations.
