NOAA comes clean ...

Windmills have been around for a long time. And, they don't cause cancer.
Pretty clean. Just need efficient and long lasting battery storage.
Unless you can invent nuclear fusion, green sources of energy are going to be our way forward.
Whether you like it or not. :)
You wont like the cost.

And if we get enough green energy, you wont like the blackouts and the cpnsequences that come with that threat.

Clean? After they burn up tons of coal to manufactures 1000's of tons of natural resources into short lived inefficient electricity.

Of course. Not at first. Because that's how manufacturing and adoption of technology evolve.

I love hearing the bleating of people who never invented a thing or have even one patent to their name. It's refreshing to see people with limited vision and no actual skill to move any technology forward.

Neither does itinerant stupidity. But windmills were mostly used to grind flour, pump water, power lumber saws, that sort of thing.

How about batteries that are 99% efficient, have no memory, never discharge or short and can't catch fire, is fairly light, and have fantastic energy capacity! Since we're going for the science fiction, I figured I might as well go all the way, to bad nothing like that actually exists and may never exist or could take another 100 years to solve! Then there is that pollution thing though. Oh snap.

Unless you can invent nuclear fusion, green sources of energy are going to be our way forward.
Rock & roll! But until we get there, Ace, no sense killing ourselves burning our bridges behind us yet considering that we are a long, LONG, LONG way to being able to rely on it for more than a tiny FRACTION of our needs! After all, waiting another 50 years MAY be hard on the planet but trashing our energy sector long before we are remotely close to having a viable, affordable replacement is a CERTAIN way of extinguishing human civilization.

Jack, just curious. Do you EVER notice that no one agrees with you? That everyone DISAGREES with you? STRONGLY? Just thought that might be worth pointing out.

But maybe you just think you're so just so much damn SMARTER than everyone else!

So after ignoring me for better than a month, you pop your head up in an ancient thread? Your thoughts are like farts. Gone in a puff of wind. :auiqs.jpg:
Argue the point or don't waste board space.

Argue the point of the OP, toobfreak.
You can do that?..can't you?

Anyone with a brain (leaves you out) knows that global warming and MMCC are all made up just to put money in rich people's pockets and help governments control populations. Nothing man puts out is anything compared to what the Earth itself puts out and has dealt with and recovered from many times for billions of years.

Prove me wrong, Ace.

NOAA has been posting the annual global temperature by late February or early March ... these new turbo-charged computers make this work easy ... so I was genuinely curious as to why they were taking so long this year ... well, now they have and it's bad news folks ...

Posted June 28th, 2022 ...

20th Century average was 14ºC ... today it's 15ºC ... [yawn] ... in the 22nd Century it will be 16ºC maybe ... maybe not ... these are tiny changes over long periods of time ... nothing anyone will even notice, let alone cause any damage ... meh ...

This is just a single year drop ... or just a seven year break from climbing temperatures ... if this is inexplicable, then we must admit we don't know very much about the climate system ... because CO2 emissions haven't taken a break ...
A couple of years ago NOAA was caught creating false data.

A couple of weeks ago we found out that don't even adhere to their own procedures when taking temperature readings.

They have zero credibility.

NOAA is a government agency. The marxist lefties have ruined all of them. Remember years back when Obumma had NOAA doing Muslim outreach???

I have proved you wrong...Ace. You've failed to put up any evidence that I'm wrong. Nary a link..nor even a protest. Just your blustering.

If your own Defense Department (under multiple Presidents) say it's an issue...it's probably an issue. While man doesn't necessarily CAUSE climate change...man EXACERBATES climate change.

What NOAA actually had to say:

  • Earth’s temperature has risen by 0.14° Fahrenheit (0.08° Celsius) per decade since 1880, but the rate of warming since 1981 is more than twice that: 0.32° F (0.18° C) per decade.
  • 2021 was the sixth-warmest year on record based on NOAA’s temperature data.
  • Averaged across land and ocean, the 2021 surface temperature was 1.51 °F (0.84 °Celsius) warmer than the twentieth-century average of 57.0 °F (13.9 °C) and 1.87 ˚F (1.04 ˚C) warmer than the pre-industrial period (1880-1900).
  • The nine years from 2013 through 2021 rank among the 10 warmest years on record.
and

The year culminated as the sixth warmest year on record for the globe with a temperature that was 0.84°C (1.51°F) above the 20th century average. The years 2013–2021 all rank among the ten warmest years on record. The year 2021 was also the 45th consecutive year (since 1977) with global temperatures, at least nominally, above the 20th century average. Of note, the year 2005, which was the first year to set a new global temperature record in the 21st century, currently ties with 2013 as the 10th warmest year on record and 2010 ranks as the ninth warmest on record.

and

According to the 2017 U.S. Climate Science Special Report, if yearly emissions continue to increase rapidly, as they have since 2000, models project that by the end of this century, global temperature will be at least 5 degrees Fahrenheit warmer than the 1901-1960 average, and possibly as much as 10.2 degrees warmer. If annual emissions increase more slowly and begin to decline significantly by 2050, models project temperatures would still be at least 2.4 degrees warmer than the first half of the 20th century, and possibly up to 5.9 degrees warmer.

Considering that this post is NOTHING but quotes from the OP's link, why, Billy Boy, did you give it a thumbs down?

So much ado over a single degree Celsius ... you'd think Glacial Lake Missoula was about to overflow or something ... and this is a generational change ... changes in 100-year climate averages take longer than a human lifetime to occur ...

You will never notice ...
1.5 degrees warmer..and then....we are the water planet in the movie "Interstellar".
