If all this is true, maybe their delegation to the Olympics saw how rich the S.Koreans are and put two and two together.....a prosperous economy with a leader who cares about his people or a nuclear holocaust. Kim ain't crazy....a psychopath but not crazy.....The Chinese may have convinced him Trump will kill his ass if he doesn't obey.

it was the US that nuclearized the peninsula in the first place, somewhere in the 1960s if i'm not mistaken, to offset high costs of conventional forces to soothe South-Korean fears over a much larger North-Korean army.
i'm pretty sure Kim Jong Un wants to denuclearize the South as well, which would return that problem.
