How about demanding that fathers stay with their families and that parents raise and maintain higher standards and expectations for their kids? How about creating expectations for parents to help their children with their school work, maybe throwing out some ideas like creating homework groups for families in which responsible, loving parents can share homework assistance duties?

How about doing the heavy lifting of demanding a change in culture where black Americans look inward and see that they're just as capable as anyone else? How about demanding that black "leaders" and politicians lead the way in changing this culture, instead of waiting for the government to create more programs?

How about using the President of the United States as a glaring example of a child who was born into a troubled, mixed-race home but who still managed to become President because those who raised him provided enough love and a strong enough environment? Wouldn't that be pretty freakin' easy?

Might that at least be helpful? I wonder if that's in this "program".

Of course, we all know that raising and maintaining higher expectations isn't real popular at the ballot box.
