obama caves again

Bill Maher had an interesting take on this: that this was done on purpose by Obama to, first, change the subject from the economy to social issues that were settled years ago (contraceptives), and second, to get the clown car to over-reach and come out against a woman's choice to control their reproductive rights.

He may be right.

and monkeys may fly out of my ass, but i'm not waiting up nights

little known trivia: bill maher actually played the shark that fonzie jumped over
You don't think Obama will highlight the GOP nominee's stance against birth control in the general? Because they are all on record as supporting Mississippi's 'Personhood' legislation that failed as too extreme - in Mississippi!!!

i have no doubt that obama will do whatever it takes to get elected

The end result is that these women will now be covered like everyone else, with no co-pay, and will not be discriminated against because of where they work.

Obamacares about results, not process.

nor the constitution, apparently
What is un-Constitutional? Obamacares is law.

We have first amendment and tenth amendment violations. Or at least what I believe to be violations. The Supreme Court will soon decide on the matter of the tenth. The first amendment discussion is playing out now.

That's fine, but I would like to be able to have sex with my husband for fun and not just to have kids. Not only would MY health suffer if I got pregnant every time, but so would the health of my kids.

But hey, I've never been a perfect Catholic.

And I'm kind of mystified at your old fashioned attitude.

I'll get over it, though.

thats fine, but why do we have to pay for your fun? and why force someone who doesn't believe in it, to provide it to you?

Doesn't health insurance cover Viagra?

What do you expect with the government running it?

That's not what I asked.

Is the eventual GOP nominee's stance on birth control an inappropriate subject for a political campaign for POTUS?

Did insurance cover Viagra before Obamacares?

Think before you answer.

Not all insurance did.

And not all insurance does.

It was an issue of some contention here in Wisconsin when the Milwaukee teachers' union tried to get Viagra coverage even though it meant / would have meant laying off many first year teachers. I think that failed to go through.

Weren't you one of the people who were saying he wouldn't back down?

Nope. Biden and Panetta warned him, yet the women in the cabinet and his household convinced him against his better instincts. If he had stayed with it, he would have seriously undermined any chance for re-election.

Obama forcing that mandate on Catholic hospitals while Santorum wanted to force unwanted rape pregnancies on women.

Now that would have been an interesting campaign!

It sounds BLACK.
I'm just amazed that they can't even muster a lame response, just crickets.
I got no problem answering your, "when did you stop beating your wife" question. I just thought it was rhetorical given the childishly transparent nature of it. But hey, you want it...

There is NOTHING wrong with organizing your community...as long as it's not FORCED organization. THAT is called fascism and it appears to be the aspirations Obama developed during his days as an organizer!

Now you answer one. Just exactly HOW does the ability to "organize" a Ford Econoline van to carry 6 old people to the polls to vote for the DEMOCRAT of their choice so they can collect their 20 dollars worth of cat food qualify someone to be a dog catcher...little on a state Senator, US Senator, or US President?

Chirp...chirp...drone!

....What will you do when the next DICTATOR (President) says: now, we will have no birth control, no baby costs covered by health insurance policies?
I'll throw a week long party to celibate our return to LIBERTY!

As with 95% of what the federal government has it's hands in, it has NO BUSINESS being involved in any of those things. They are free market and state's rights issues!

YOU better think carefully. The ONLY reason it's covered is because the democrats pushed it through!

See...98% of health care insurers ALREADY covered BOTH contraceptives AND drugs for erectile dysfunction of one type or the other back in 2002...and that is LONG before that socialist SHIT was pushed on the American people.

And no...NOT ONE SINGLE STATE had a mandated that FORCED them to do it. The FREE MARKET did it's job.

So why does Obama need to DICTATE that insurers cover something THAT IS ALREADY COVERED!?!?

So I'd say you might want to think about where you want this to go. Cause you are barking a slick tree!

personally, i find it difficult to equate birth control with preventive health care.

i guess i'm stupid since i see this as a first amendment issue and not a moral one

i'll endeavor to persevere, nonetheless

Respect for the First Amendment is an 'old fashioned attitude'?

I don't care how many times you repeat it, this is not a first amendment issue.

Personally I think that giving women equal coverage for preventative health care is important and making laws to pander to a religion is un-American.

But a lot of stupid people only care about stupid laws that legislate their moral views.

you might want to turn that around ask yourself why is it obama wants to mandate others morals...?

Again, no one is being forced to take birth control just like no one is being forced to get a prostrate exam. But both as preventative measures should have equal coverage.

i don't care who does or doesn't use birth control.

i've got a teensy problem with the govt forcing churches to supply it against their beliefs.

i guess i'm old fashioned that way.
Supply it? GMAB.
No one is asking them to supply it.
