Obama is diabolical!

I thought of this diabolical way we can get around the rule of law. Obviously, with laws in place it's impossible for the people in power to rule as they want so why not change the interpretation of the law at any moment so that the people doing the interpreting can effectively rule directly over them. We will call it "living constitution" who's meaning depends on the spirit of the times which is a really good way to justifty this scheme to the people. The law's meaning can be adjusted to fit whatever agenda the politicians have so they don't have be confined to the constraints of the law but do what they want to do by establishing a new interpretation. It would seem kind of stupid that such a thing can be done but by expressing this diabolical strategy as a way of being more dynamic to fit the temporary need of any situation that may arise from moment to moment makes it seem like this is needed which justifies this to the people that we want to rule over. Diabolical!

The left has been doing that since the beginning of our republic. The Patriot Act, for example, was supposed to be used STRICTLY for finding terrorists but many of us knew that Democrats would use it to go after their political enemies as soon as they got back in the W.H. Sure enough, one of the first things we saw after Obama was sworn in was the DHS memo to law enforcement naming their political opponents as possible terrorists. People who oppose abortion, people who support the 2nd amendment, people who don't support Obama, returning war veterans, people with Ron Paul stickers, etc. An outward move to change the meaning of the word "terrorist" to apply to anyone who is likely to oppose the leftist agenda.

Moi? Au contraire, mon ami! I am not one to declare the Constitution a "living document". I consider it written in stone, to be altered only by the mandated process at the direction of the American people.

You are right about how the patriot act was used to go after political opponents and as right as you are the supposed liberals don't care. They just see this as a justifiable act because...we'll...if you believed that government was naturally authoritarian then it would just seem logical for the government to go after political opponents.
