Obamacare may sink the democratic party for the next 2 elections

lol, yesterday some 'nut here was bitching that Obamacare was going to make all these people's insurance costs go up,

so I showed him how it would actually make insurance cheaper for many of them, because of the subsidies,

then he started bitching because their insurance costs were going to go down - that Obamacare was just another government handout.

The inmates here have a bitch for all seasons, so to speak.

Where does the money for subsidies come from? answer: those who will be paying 300% more than they are paying now.

this was never about healthcare, it was a wealth redistribution scheme with the ultimate goal of one-payer socialized medicine. It has failed everywhere else, but its going to work here????????????? are you libs completely brain dead?

See what I mean? They even volunteer to prove I'm right.

Those employers who provided health insurance to their employees before ObamaCare were grandfathered. They did not have to meet the minimum requirements of coverage and affordability.

If such an employer changed their insurance plan after the ACA was enacted, they lose their grandfather status.

Most employer plans already exceed the ACA requirements, so losing their grandfather status has no effect on them at all. But the whackos would have you believe that losing grandfather status automatically means those employers will cancel their health plans!

Why would they? Whether or not the ACA exists, these employers always have provided good insurance to their employees and plan on doing so into the future.

For the minority of companies that lose their grandfather status who do not meet the ACA standards, they will have to improve their health plans.

And that is where the 93/126 million rumor is blown out of the water.

But there is more.

Those companies who never had a health plan at all will now be required to provide one, or they will have to pay for their employees to get insurance from an exchange.

The end result is the opposite of what the idiot doomsayers are saying. Millions of employees will have insurance who did not have insurance before. Many more will have improved health plans. But most will be completely unaffected since their employer plan already exceeds the ACA requirements, and always have.

As time passes, you will know who was right and who was a raging parroting retard.

How so? but how about answering the question-----where does the money for subsidies come from?

129 million canceled policies will see to that. Funny thing is last week I posted about hundreds of millions losing their insurance and was roundly mocked by the loons among us. But now the Wallstreet Journal is reporting that it may indeed be that high and that Obama KNEW and aids debated if he should be honest or not about it.

PLEASE keep your heads in the sand dems. Will make the next two elections easy.

ObamaCare is potentially bigger than just impacting two elections.

It could set back Progressivism for the next 3 decades, which would be a Very Good Thing Indeed.

ObamaCare is going to be paid for with higher taxes and with changes to Medicare.

Federal subsidies, by definition, will be paid for with taxpayer money.

The insurance companies have to insure people with pre-existing conditions, and that cost will be shouldered by higher premiums for everyone else, including forcing people to buy insurance the government tells them to buy, at a cost way above what they would have had to pay before ObamaCare.

Kind of ironic. Some people didn't buy insurance because it costs too much. Now they have to buy insurance that's even more expensive.

This is the stepping stone to single payer healthcare and a 60 percent income tax bracket.

This is why I ask the question: http://www.usmessageboard.com/politics/322119-can-the-democrat-party-be-saved.html

I want it on record that Fox News claimed "almost 80 million could be losing coverage, too".

They specifically said 80 million employees who currently have employer sponsored insurance could be "losing coverage". They cite a CBO report as making that claim, but they are lying.

This is irresponsible hack journalism at its worst:

Too bad Forbes, CNN, the Washington Post among others covered the same story with the same numbers. It must be a vast right wing conspiracy.

Where did the money come from before to pay for healthcare for those who could not afford it?

One can only hope.

Most people get their insurance through their employers. Employers change their insurance all the time. The only people really being affected here are those who already have to purchase insurance on their own. Out of those, most people will do better with the new policies on the exchange. Yes, some people are getting screwed, but the numbers are going to be much lower than you all want to believe. In the end, most people are going to be happy with the insurance they end up with, and when they start understanding everything that is covered 100% as preventative care, they are going to be pleasantly surprised. It does look like a mess right now, but it will work itself out. I think the administration would have been open to delaying this if it wasn't for the fact that Republicans have done absolutely nothing over the past two years other than try to derail the whole thing.

Are you forgetting the Democrats that had the full time jobs and went down to less than 30 hour weeks? Now they are searching for those second jobs

Many of the voting democrats did not have employer insurance...

And those people cannot access the exchanges right now.

If they did have insurance, they don't anymore. Obama lied to them along with the rest of us.

How many of these Democrats did not have insurance a didn't want it. And still don't want it, but will be forced to get it now? Don't bet on their votes.

O-care will be the most popular social reform ever, will have 60 per cent approval by next November, and the roll out of the website will be forgotten by Jan 1. It will also become obvious who the real liars are, and who has caused the higher prices in red states and areas, Pubs and insurers...

It's all George Bush's fault. PERIOD.

I doubt it very much and as a matter of fact, this time next month this whole thing will be forgotten just like Fast and Furious, Benghazi, The IRS, The NSA and the spying on our friends. Nobody cares what is going on any more, not the people, not the press, no one cares besides a few here and they.

"And tomorrow has turned very much into a referendum on Obamacare."

That was someone yesterday talking about the Virginia gubernatorial election.

Guess who.
