That's not breathing. As long as the baby is not breathing, it is not considered to be "alive”.

Not all things that meet every accepted definition of being alive, breathe, in the sense that we do once we are fully developed enough to do so, using lungs and a related respiratory system.

Insects do not have any organ that corresponds to lungs. They merely have channels in their bodies, through which air from outside passively reaches those places where oxygen is needed. Fish, of course, have gills which absorb oxygen from the water in a very different way than our lungs absorb oxygen from the air. Very small critters, such as rotifers, simply absorb oxygen through the entire external surface of their bodies.

I do not think there is any credible authority anywhere that includes how a creature breathes as any part of the definition of “life”.

You are free to believe anything you like. You just don't get to make the choice for others.
