Once Upon a Time, the DOJ Argued the Presidential Records Act Gave a President Massive Authority Over His Records

Not under the Presidential Records Act:

"The 1978 law, not mentioned in the indictment, states just the opposite, as it requires records created by presidents and vice presidents be turned over to the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) at the end of their administrations."

Those documents belonged to him.
"'Under the Presidential Records Act, the Archivist of the United States assumed legal custody of all Trump White House official records immediately upon President Biden's swearing in as President,' Baron said. 'Every piece of paper constituting an official document, whether it was classified or unclassified, should have been turned over to NARA. Moreover, when NARA staff asked for the return of the records improperly taken, the former President should have immediately given NARA every official document in his possession.'"

We still do not have all of Obama's docs, we don't know where Hillary's emails went and Joe still has boxes of documents in his garage. At least Trump was cooperating.
Trump wasn’t cooperating. He literally lied and failed to comply with a subpoena for documents.

Mar a Lago hosts thousands of people and employs hundreds of employees. Secret Service protects Trump, not his junk. They had no idea the documents were there.

They were in the Trump residence at MAL, which has 24/7 Secret Service protection. No one gets into the residence without Secret Service approval and vetting.

I see you don’t understand what you’re talking about.
You linked to an article about Obama’s presidential center. This is what the article said, which you didn’t read:
“In a break with precedent, there will be no research library on site, and none of Mr. Obama’s official presidential records.”

Hoffmann Estates isn’t the presidential center.

See:

Yeah and Obama refused to release FOIA requested documents.

Not long ago, in what is a seminal court case, involving Bill Clinton, the DOJ sided with Clinton.

Jack Smith, the buffoon that he is, ignored this in his vendetta against Trump.

The DOJ has no problem with its own legal inconsistency.

Yeah and Obama refused to release FOIA requested documents.
So did Trump and every other administration.

Not what the DOJ argued in court when they won the Clinton sock drawer tapes lawsuit. Obviously, the court agreed with the DOJ.
