Poll that's never been wrong since 1946 says GOP keeps the house

Well that settles that. Why even bother to vote?

To get one of the little stickers?

Mine never have those. My old station back in the sticks did. How am I supposed to lord it over it everyone without the sticker?! :mad:
Make your own, here are some templates; feel free to print them out and glue stick them to yer forehead to celebrate national Stockholm syndrome day. . .

In democracy, it's your vote that counts.

In feudalism, it's your count that votes.

:rock::rock::rock:

I have voted locally for nearly twenty years. In all that time, the longest wait I’ve ever had was five minutes, and that was the election of 2012. Today, I had a wait of more than thirty minutes to vote. That is unprecedented. The poll workers all said this was very rare, not only for a midterm, but for any election including the Presidential.

I don’t know what happened after I left, but the Poll Workers were predicting no “dead” time.

Oh, and for the record, the last midterm election, there was NO line. None. Zip. I literally walked in and filled out the form, and presented my ID, and got my voting card, and walked to the machine. There were TWO other people with eight machines empty and waiting.

I saw it coming.

So I voted almost two weeks ago.

Today a lot of people were very late coming to the coffee shop. All bitching that they had a long, long wait in line to vote.

Not common in this small town.

Several remarked on how the vast majority of those in line were wearing RED. A colour you don't usually see in outer clothing. One snarked that even folks who always had work blue jeans had bought chinos for the occasion. I guess the shops didn't think to stock up on red trousers other than the heavy ones (red flannel snow pants).

With somewhere around 120 in contention and 41 GOP incumbents retiring, it will be a bloody miracle. The Dems should be ashamed if they cannot pick up more than 30 seats. Anything less that 30 and I would consider that an ass whipping. They only need 23 to gain control.

Ashamed if they can't pick up more than 30 seats, the way the districts have been gerrymandered? You're deranged.

Because of gerrymandering, Democrats need a lot more votes to flip the House than if the districts maps were drawn on the basis of geography instead of party. More than 5% more overall than Republicans need to keep it.

There needs to be a serious investigation as to the voter suppression techniques being used by Republicans, not to mention a national voter registration card to ensure that people who are qualified to vote are not being turned away at the polls. This is a national disgrace.
