A media industry built on conflict (because conflict sells).
Racism (it does happen and increases tension)
Radicalization (this is not just Religious, there is also anti-government, anti-abortion, anti-Corporation, eco-warriors...), you name it they cam in all flavours
Truly a lack of discussion & lack of compromise in politics... (If Obama told the country that it is time to take stock and breath, you get a feeling that a few would suffocate to death.)

Guns aren't the problem. Our policy towards freedom is the "problem"

Sure give me dictator control over the US and I could cut our crime rate to practically nothing , and virtually eliminate terror attacks, but who would want to live under such draconian measures?
