Whether a Democrat or Republican is in office it's that time in a president's term that I've heard enough and only tune in for their State of the Union messages.

That is the most useless speech of their career. THIS is one that MATTERS.

I like to hear presidents express their coming year's priorities, doing so in front of both political parties makes it interesting to me. The one thing I care about with this shutdown is that those on the job get paid in a timely manner.
