He is supposed to represent Christ. So why didn't he mention him?

He did at the church where he went to eat with the homeless, instead of eating with the congress. He was not there to preach at the congress. He was not out to make Christians or RC's but a talk about society and the world.

Let's take a look at what the Pope did mention: Poverty and income inequality; the issue of environmental degradation; immigration; the abolition of the death penalty; the need to do everything we can to create a peaceful world; to protect every human life in every stage of development; to involve the elderly. The Pope called for us not to repeat the sins and errors of the past; to respond to those facing great troubles today in a way that is always human, just, and fraternal; to not discard whatever proves troublesome; to remember the golden rule do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

If Christ were on tour in the United States, would it would be to talk about himself, or would he be more apt to shine a light on the ills of the world and ask everyone to work as one to heal them? Where the Pope possibly could have emulated Christ's methodology more, is that Christ was always speaking about our individual, personal relationships with one another, while the Pope was here to speak about national and international relationships.

What would you have liked to hear the Pope say about Christ? Growing up in the Catholic faith, and observing this Pope, if another Christian were to refer to him as the Representative of Christ, I can easily picture him bowing back saying, "You, too, are the Representative of Christ. All Christians are the Representative of Christ."

From the above, the reason I think that Pope Francis has little mention of Christ is because he believes he is both God the Father and Jesus Christ on earth

And what did your people do in the OT? God actually spoke to them and even was said to of fought with Jacob and Jacob won. Your people were impostering the " Heavenly Father" as well. They do not want to be rabbis.

From the above, the reason I think that Pope Francis has little mention of Christ is because he believes he is both God the Father and Jesus Christ on earth

2 Thessalonians 2:1-4
1 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,
2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.
3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

Romans 13:1-7 is the basis of the Doctrine of the Two Swords. During Medieval times Church and State were one (the two swords) with God being over both. The swords represent the spiritual and temporal, one being wielded by the Church, the other being wielded on behalf the Church. Those were different times, times because of today's separate of Church and State, we can barely comprehend in our own minds.

In your quotes from the Popes, taken out of context, it loses the medieval thought that the temporal sword was subordinate to the spiritual sword. The Pope(s) were reminding rulers that God is supreme over both swords, and the Pope was God's speaker here on earth.

In those days the two very human organizations (Church and State) depended on the other that both were under the rule of God. Your post is much too long to research the context in which the Popes were reminding temporal kings they had a higher ruler (God) and the Pope was speaking here on earth for God. I am not ruling out the possibility that there could have also been a pope who was trying to get his own way in human matters by invoking his role in the Two Swords. Again, context is important.

In any case, no, the Pope is not God, and no, Catholics do not believe the Pope is God. As I said, this goes back to the Doctrine of the Two Swords in medieval times. Understand that doctrine, and you will understand why the popes worded their comments as they did.
