Good for you
Low wage and low skilled workers lack the bargaining power.
Doesn’t excuse employers exploiting them.

You just love posting silly things, don't you?

Specifically, how are the poor decisions and lack of personal responsibility the fault of the employer?

Rules-S.jpg
lol. Right wingers are best at false witness bearing and practicing the Abomination of Hypocrisy (unto God).

Why did you dodge answering my simple question? Instead, you childishly chose to post a senseless comment.

Specifically, what is not true in my chart listing three ways to avoid poverty? Doesn't that come down to personal responsibility?

One more chance, " Specifically, how are the poor decisions and lack of personal responsibility the fault of the employer?"

Business knows that there are a low skilled class of people who will accept any meager wage offered. As long as they have a supply of those people, they will pay any wage they can get away with.

Republicans celebrate that as Free Market

But that market does not pay a wage workers can support themselves or a family. The taxpayer picks up the difference in housing aid, food stamps, medical care.

The employer keeps the profit

What is the typical household income where one of the workers earns the minimum wage?

Low skill, low wage workers have very little negotiating leverage. Which is why it is so easy to exploit them.

Why we need a minimum wage

Large%20minimum%20wage-S.jpg

You should pay more because the taxpayer must support your workers with subsidies for food, housing and medical care

If your employee gets sick or injured, why should the taxpayer have to pay to make them well?

As you know, it is $53,000 a year.

Who Earns the Minimum Wage? Suburban Teenagers, Not Single Parents
February 28, 2013

In his State of the Union address, President Obama called for raising minimum wage to $9.00 an hour. He argued that “no one who works full-time should have to live in poverty.”[1] Most minimum-wage workers, however, are not poor. Congress should examine which workers—that would not lose their jobs—would benefit from a higher minimum wage.

Data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics and the Census Bureau show that most minimum-wage earners are young, part-time workers and that relatively few of them live below the poverty line. Their average family income is over $53,000 a year. A hike in the minimum wage primarily raises pay for suburban teenagers, not the working poor. If Congress and the President seriously want to help the working poor, they should look elsewhere.

Suburban teens?

Teens who are trying to earn money to pay for college? Teens trying to save for that first car?

$7.25 will not cover without the teen and their parents assuming significant debt.

Minimum wage earned over the Summer used to cover a years tuition. Now, it does not come close

higher wages = higher prices!!!

Higher wages mean more consumption, less debt, less need for public support.

Higher wages mean more consumption, less debt, less need for public support.

And less consumption, more debt for the business.

Less profit
Profits and executive salaries have soared over the last 35 years. Business just received a 40 Percent cut in taxes

Wages have been stagnant

Less profit

Fewer employees.

Business just received a 40 Percent cut in taxes

Taxes don't matter if you don't turn a profit.

Low skill workers should work on their skills before starting a family.

Interesting sentiment
Those with low skills should not be allowed to breed

How Republican of you

Those with low skills should not be allowed to breed

No, you silly twat. If you're making $7.25 an hour, you can't support a family,
so don't start one.

Your low-skill ass isn't suddenly worth $15 an hour just because you had a kid.

I'll make anyone a deal. We end the Federal Reserve and I'll quit sticking up for the poor.

Why should we end the Federal Reserve?
How is making unskilled workers permanently unemployable "sticking up for the poor"?
How would raising the minimum wage make the Poor, "permanently unemployable"?

Higher paid Labor create more in demand and pay more in taxes in every long run equilibrium.

How is making unskilled workers permanently unemployable "sticking up for the poor"?

How would raising the minimum wage make the Poor, "permanently unemployable"?

If you're unskilled and only worth $8/hr, who will hire you at $12/hr?

Higher paid Labor create more in demand

Higher cost labor is in less demand.
Only in right wing fantasy.

Social services cost around fourteen dollars an hour and is a reason for a fifteen dollar an hour minimum wage.

Lower social services and people will get a job/skills/build a resume.
Slavery was better for the right wing's bottom line. Why blame the poor in modern times? Unemployment compensation for simply being unemployed is more market friendly and ensures more capital circulates. A positive multipllier effect; how capitalistic. Too bad the right wing prefers their socialism on a national basis instead.

Then stop whining about the cost of social services, right wingers.
Social services has nothing to do with two free people deciding on compensation for a task performed, Please don't go off on irrelevant tangents when you can't intellectually debate the point.
It has to do with taxes and the lack of efficiency to our economy. A higher minimum wage creates more in Demand and generates more in Tax revenue. It is termed and styled, a positive multiplier effect.

Raise the minimum wage means low wage workers have more to spend on college, less need for debt, less need for public assistance
Why do you think that two free adults can't decide for themselves what they are willing to trade labor for compensation?
Do you think potential workers are too stupid or worthless to determine their own worth in the job market? Whose fault is that?
Not in all situations or we would have no poverty and no homeless problem.

“Raise the Wage Act”, (H.R. 582) would have increased most USA’s wage-earning families’ incomes.

The last minimum wage bill that was proposed and considered in congress, was H.R. 258, “Raise the Wage Act”. It was passed by the Democratic majority house, then passed on to the Republican majority senate, (where it now lies effectively dead).
Refer to the Congressional Budget office’s, (i.e. CBO’s) minimum wage rate report,
How Increasing the Federal Minimum Wage Could Affect Employment and Family Income | Congressional Budget Office, and follow the link’s instructions to obtain the HR 258 interactive graphs.

Referring to the graph entitled “Average Percentage Change in Real Family Income, by Income Group”: The graph indicates average incomes of families earning less than 3 times the poverty threshold increase. Average incomes of higher income families do not perceivably begin to decrease until those incomes achieve 6 more times the poverty threshold;

(i.e. CBO’s study confirms minimum wage rate’s beneficial effects upon job’s rates are inversely related. Employees within the lowest wage rate brackets most benefit in proportion to their incomes, and those benefits (proportional to incomes) are incrementally lesser as incomes increase. Thus, the wage incomes of most USA’s wage earners would have benefit or would not be detrimentally affected by passage of H.R. 582.

[Six, (6) times a family of three’s income equal or exceeding 6 times the poverty threshold would be $122,000 per year and for a family of four it would well exceed $125,00 per year expressed in 2018 U.S. dollars.]
Respectfully, Supposn
1. doesn't matter how much $$$$ you give stupid people, they will still be poor
2. higher wages = higher prices!!!! SO, they still can't afford things!! DUH
lol. Why abolish slavery then, right wingers. That is what you really want. DUH
slavery and minimum wage---????HAHAHHAHHAHAHA
LOL. Still clueless and Causeless regarding right wing propaganda and rhetoric, right wingers? Y'all want the minimum wage to truly be Zero.
raise minimum wage = raising prices = worthless

Still don't remember your right wing parroting propaganda? You Right Wingers want the minimum wage to be zero.
