Cohen lied to get a loan. And Cohen “admitted” that the “purpose” of the payment was to “influence” the campaign.

But Cohen is a liar. We know this because he admitted he had lied. So, even if he “admits” that he paid the women to silence them in order to “influence” the campaign, that doesn’t address why Trump paid for the NDA’s. It has to have been Trump’s “intent,” not Cohen’s.

Plus, he’s charged with crimes allegedly “committed” in 2017 — after the alleged payments.

The violation of NY election law was the attempt to cover up the hush money paid to Stormy Daniels as well as the reporting of the payment. After the election he falsified business records to cover up the election law violation.

I've noticed over time that some folks tend to start new threads with the same content when the existing thread isn't necessarily conforming to the direction they prefer it to go.

Trump arranged a $130,000 payment to porn star Stormy Daniels that he attempted to conceal. This was before the election and is a violation of New York State election law. That is not what Trump is charged with. However that charge may be added to indictment by the time the trial starts.

After the election he falsified business records to conceal his violation of election law. That is where the falsifying of the records becomes a felony rather than a misdemeanor.

He has a signed statement from Stormy Daniels that she never received a penny from Trump. The $130K was something Michael Cohen supposedly did on his own without Trump's knowledge.
You can't retroactively charge Trump with something that #1 isn't illegal and #2 he had no knowledge of.
You're just taking the word of a convicted perjurer on all of this.

Every lawyer in the country said this BS indictment should be thrown out before it gets to trial. It will be lucky to last until the Dec 4th hearing.
