early days a walk was considered a hit...think how that helped the batting avg.....Baseball rules get changed all the time. Until 1901 foul balls were not counted as strikes. They weren't anything.
what do you base that on?.....Have any of you crying considered, for one moment, that the Negro Leagues were a better competition than the Major Leagues?
That should make your heads explode
realistically neither was the period from 1871 till 1919......way to many differences....Maybe black players belonged in the MLB
But they were not MLB players
The Negro Leagues were not MLB
Ok, I guess sorealistically neither was the period from 1871 till 1919......way to many differences....

This is just a form of reparations by guilt-ridden white libsBecause "MLB" had different rules or eras does not mean you mingle in uncontrolled data from any Tom Dick & Harry. MLB kept it's own data, made it's own rules and played it's own league games under League rules. Best players were identifiable by competing in MLB not in company picnic games.
An all black league also had great athletes in it.what do you base that on?.....
the negro baseball league played in stadiums....Because "MLB" had different rules or eras does not mean you mingle in uncontrolled data from any Tom Dick & Harry. sure there was but so did the white leagues....An all black league also had great athletes in it.
Everyone thinks the Negro League was somehow inferior and their records don’t belong with the all white league, but maybe the competition was equal, or even better.sure there was but so did the white leagues....
Then let their records stand for the league they played inAn all black league also had great athletes in it.
They dont belong because they didnt play each otherEveryone thinks the Negro League was somehow inferior and their records don’t belong with the all white league, but maybe the competition was equal, or even better.
Maybe, but the negro league stats are very suspect. We just don't know. Anyway - i'm sick of the wokkies rewriting history all the time.Everyone thinks the Negro League was somehow inferior and their records don’t belong with the all white league, but maybe the competition was equal, or even better.
I think the Anson legacy is overstated. The rival American League arose and they declined to sign any black players.ty cobb wasnt a racist.....he said he did not care if minorities played....cap anson is the one who prevented it from happening in the late 1800's...
it was probably equal.....good players so so players....Everyone thinks the Negro League was somehow inferior and their records don’t belong with the all white league, but maybe the competition was equal, or even better.
is it?....everything i have read about it said he stated that he would not step on a field with a black player....and they were talking about letting them play when he made that statement.....other players apparently lined up with him....i would like to know what he was scared of?....I think the Anson legacy is overstated. Yes, he was one guy. The rival American League could have sign blacks to further dent the National League, but they did not.is it?....everything i have read about it said he stated that he would not step on a field with a black player....and they were talking about letting them play when he made that statement.....other players apparently lined up with him....i would like to know what he was scared of?....
they were a new league.....maybe they didnt want the bullshit that would accompany that....Yes, he was one guy. The rival American League could have sign blacks to further dent the National League, but they did not.
