Actually, many of them are decent policies; they just do not offer 100% coverage on all preventative care. Costs are being shifted in many cases. For some, the policies under the ACA will be cheaper, but for others they will be more expensive. While I do support the ACA and believe it is a step in the right direction, there need to be some changes.
ACA is a typically paternalistic, condescending, one-size fits all approach to health care. It takes away consumer choice and takes power away from the public that actually has to buy the insurance.
Does a 60 year old women need to pay for annual prostate exams? Does a 30 year old male need to pay for a yearly pelvic, pap smear, and mammogram? Or how about an elder couple paying for well baby exams?
Auditor, you and I have had discussions on this topic, and we generally agree. The system is broken. Obamacare makes it much worse. It is a complete disaster. The plug will be pulled on this monster...it's just a question of when.
