And yet it is the Senate that has spent the last 3 years ignoring the House. The Senate which refuses to do their job, the Senate which shit cans bills without even reading them or sending them to committee. Yup and when the Republican house threatens to do the same after 3 years the Democrats whine it is bad for the Country.

It was Obama that proposed sequester and when the republicans agreed to his demands he changed them and forced it on us. When the Republicans proposed ways to ease the sequester it was Obama and the Senate that refused to do anything.

The above has almost no basis in fact. While there are fringe groups on both the left and right....I live in a solid Red State...very conservative...and we get all the beer we want on Sunday morning. Champagne brunches are all over as are casinos which also serve all forms of liquor on Sunday morning. Nobody gives a damn about either "gay sex" or the morning after pill. And small amounts of grass is a traffic ticket offense.

The fact is that true intolerance for opposing views originated with the Puritan culture in New England. They landed in Massachusetts, declared themselves the Elect of God, and within a generation they were hanging women in Boston Commons for being Quakers instead of Puritans. Another generation and they are hanging teenagers as witches for non-conformity. They had many children and fanned out over the Northern USA and formed cities like Chicago and Cleveland. They were responsible for the Sedition Acts under Adams for which citizens were put in jail for expressing their opinion.

The culture has been handed down to today...the belief in their superiority; their need for control; and their intolerance of opposing views...it has its roots in New England.

Did liberals learn anything at all from Detroit?

If Red States are so liberal when it comes to prohibition, then why are they the only states that have counties and cities that prohibit the sale of alcohol. There are at least a hundred in red states and none in blue states. And if the red states are so accepting of gays, why haven't they repealed their anti-sodomy laws that relate to gays. Even if they don't allow gay marriage, they could at least recognize civil unions. Red states in general have the toughest marijuana laws and of 14 states that allow the sale of medical marijuana, only two are red states.

Yeah, you guys are a real tolerant bunch.
